have $150, 1400 rounds of 9mm, and one ar15 lower.

do i:

1) buy more 9mm now before ammo shortage hits, finish build ar15 march/april

2) put this towards the ar build now and stop buying pistol ammo

ar build will be finished by may no matter what, just dont know if all gun funds should be put towards ar stuff or not

have 2 glocks now, ar15 lower. not sure if i should buy more 9mm ammo now before the rush sets in, or start buying stuff to finish the ar before summer starts.

sks, shotty, 22 should easily be doable next year.

plan is to build ar in first half of 2016, and then stock pile 556 for the rest of the year

hoard more 556

I'm not that guy, I just remember it from when I was in the market for Saiga parts, and it was freshly discontinued when I saw it. The spikes are attached to that back plate, and the guide plate up front attaches to the barrel. To deploy, the back plate is pushed forward, extending the spikes.

While my S12 lacks a bayonet, I do have the Chaos quad rail.

I had to drill my gas port to get low brass to cycle, even with the MD Arms adjustable gas plug, Tromix modified trigger group, and a lot of polishing. Then it will still choke on occasion. Winchester Universal is absolutely a no go.

As for mags, I've had a couple of the surefire 10 rd mags, but those were crap. The factory 5 and the MD Arms 20 rd drum are the only two worth a shit, although the factory 8 rd mags are supposed to be great as well.

If my wife wasn't so attached to the thing (it was the first gun of mine that she shot and what got her hooked on shooting) I'd sell it to some sucker and get one of the tasty VEPR 12s being imported for $700.

Shit. You just confirmed everything. I did the ports, all my surefires suck, and I'm in the process of selling it. Funny stuff. There's a small company making steel mags but I just don't feel like dumping another $150 in mags. Mags are the biggest flaw in all these shotguns.

>>
>>28721377
sorry, I took a nap.

Anyway >>28721594 is dead on.

They first got produced around 2009/2010 I think, and weren't that popular for the price so chaos stopped making them. They became a novelty item that people started selling for more than the original asking price, so chaos made one or two more production runs to cash in a little bit on the new demand. I have one of the original ones, and it is fun and everything, but applying to much force when stabbing something (like, say, a watermelon) and then hoisting it up to blow it off the end of the barrel can slightly bend the spikes out of alignment with the indexing ring, which necessitates a complicated disassembly and realignment to get it to telescope properly again.

It's a funny novelty though, people always ogle at it and want to see it. My S12 exists so I can attach as much tacticool shit to it as possible. I call it the mallninja-12.
>>
>>28721553
You're so indecisive bro. I would go for the AR as fast as possible. Ammo always comes back. You want a lower or two kicking around in case of a worst case scenario like a ban on lowers or some shit. I'm not trying to scare tactic, but that's just where I'm at.
>>
>>28723045
lol well it is hilarious. you could hunt with saiga, skewer dead game animal, and then just cook over fire without even dropping a mag. bear approaches your tasty campfire meal? you pick up saiga with cooked rabbit attached to spikes and unload 10 rounds of 12 gauge slugs plus misc rabbit parts

Posting my stuff again because why the hell not. The things that I most want to add to this are a compact CC pistol (I have some ideas on what to get already), a Winchester SXP 12ga, a carry-handle rail and 2x optic for the AR, and maybe an 1851 Navy repro for the hell of it. >nagant revolver
Why tho? Not trying too shit on it but a Nagant revolver other than being cheaper than a GP 100 uses a terrible and hard too find wrong and is only good as a cheap collectable, get one if you want but I wouldn't trade a GP 100 for one, maybe for the money for that Nagant and by another revolver as well, maybe a used smith and a sp101 at least.
What full sized nine you looking for?
>>
>>28724398
I collect Russian milsurp so I have to have a nagant. I probably won't shoot it much. I like the gp100 but I want to get a full size 9mm that I will carry and is much less expensive to shoot than the ruger. Leaning toward the glock 17, but open to an M&P.

>>28724398

No new pics for quite a while unfortunately. Probably not spending much this year. And it's just way too much work without good reason.
I probably take my family photos too seriously. But I actually take quite a bit of effort to line things up perfectly, fix the terrible lighting situation so the colors look ok and actually capture any detail on black receivers, get just the right angle on the tripod/guns for both the pic and no bright reflections off of anything, and take tons of pics so I can pick the one where this meh tier camera actually captures detail where I want. Then I still have to edit it since the colors are never anywhere near how they look IRL.
IDK why I ranted on like that, but it's late and I'm tired.

Oh I know. I saw it at a gun show, and knew it had to be mine. Between the stock and the way the grenade launcher caught my eye, I wasn't leaving without it. And it's in 308 so ammo is easy to find. I later found out that some of those conversions to 308 are a disaster, but this one works pretty ok.
I wasn't even looking to buy anything major when I found it, much less having a MAS on my mind. I didn't even have all the money on me since my plans were just to look. I had to bum a good chunk of it off a couple friends till I reached an ATM in the home town. I was in a city heavy with Somalis who'd supposedly been causing trouble and they'd lowered the atm limits everywhere so far that it was impossible to get more than like 100 bucks a day.

>Selling the hakim.
but why?
>>
>>28725764
Something else came up that I want even more. And I got it at a great price so I can make a little money on it to help pay for said gun.
>>
>>28724552
nothing, the only shortage currently going is 22lr and its not even a shortage, its just expensive compared to what it used to cost
>>
>>28725777
was it working alright for you? or a jammomatic? friend has one but cant get it to run properly, thats why i was wondering if thats why u were selling
>>
>>28725790
Jammed once in 40 rds. It chewed up the brass like a motherfucker. Needs to have the gas adjusted, I think it is on the 3rd setting when they run best on the 2nd.
>>
>>28725823
whats the going rate of them these days? is $500 about average?
>>
>>28725831
Low end of average I think. I see a few going for that on gunbroker. There are also people who have them up for 800, and those aren't selling.
>>
>>28722619
One is an Italian made brown bess (made by Pedersoli) the other bess is Japanese. The bottom one is a japanese made Charleville. I plan to sell them to fund a Rifle Shoppe parts kit. If you look for a flintlock, avoid the ones made in India. They are dogshit and can explode on you.

Need advice on where to go next. I'm thinking either a battle rifle or a .22
>>
>>28731260
what defines a battle rifle?
>>
>>28731310
A semi auto military rifle that shoots a full size cartridge like 308 or 54r.
At minimum, it'll have a 10rd mag, but most have 20.
>>
>>28731310
A .308 semiauto, specifically interested in an HK91 or clone Will probably save up for a C308 if they are still in stick anywhere.

ah ok, i called an ar one by mistake yesterday

Look at the getaway sticks on that dame.
>>
>>28731445
Yeah, and there's a lot of sporter rifles out there that get discussed in the battle rifle threads, or may be outright confused for one too.
The most common I see are veprs just because while they 54r and 308 sporters can be made to do the same basic things(the 308 at least can use double stack 20rd mags, the 54r doesn't give many options since it's single stack mags so they get super long to reach even 10rds), they're not military rifles or designed from the ground up to be a battle rifle.

so the m1 garand isn't a battle rifle anymore?

I suppose there's exceptions.
>>
>>28732405
I think the only requirements are semiauto and a big bullet.

I can feel not wanting to move $5000 in ammo to take a pic, that's about what I've got and it goes to the ceiling if I start stacking crates/cans, and I'd be starting another stack too. Good thing it's in a basement on a cement floor.
It'd be a structural hazard anywhere else.
