You have ten seconds, literally ten seconds to explain why you don't have the best ccw gun in the world. What the fuck is wrong with you?

I'll wait. This should be entertaining.

Yeah, I'm 5'10 and 140 lbs and it's pretty easy to carry in a comp-tac MTAC. I'll probably just look for a smaller holster this spring or just and up picking up a Glock 43 or something for super hot temperature carry.

A Colt Mustang is much sexier.
>>
>>28623534
9mm > .380

If I wanted to carry a .380 that was sexy, I'd buy a Sig P232
>>
>>28623208
The trigger is fucking awful. The sear is low quality stamped metal and many examples (including mine) have a lip that drags along the frame, making a heavy, gritty, and worst of all, inconsistent trigger pull. It would probably be trivial to fix, but I don't want to carry a gun that needs to be fixed before it's even usable.

Your rabid fanboy-ism is showing.

Literally just a larger P239 that takes proprietary mags. That's right, SIG decided that it wouldn't take original P225 magazines OR P239 magazines.

SIG needs to get their shit together and come out with a smaller P239 already

I'm just curious enough to see how much of a poorly balanced pile of chunk a p224 is. It's somewhat amusing how they're offered in .40.
>>
>>28623208

I was really interested in the 238 for a bit, but I just read a bunch of problems. Failures to eject, broken slide catch springs that would cause the slide to lock back randomly, and one case where the mags were denting the feed ramp and causing feeding problems. I was also considering the p224 at the time, so seeing bother the p238 and p224 being crappy really turned me off of Sigs.
>>
>>28623666
Shoot yourself.

Actually, no, hang yourself. That way it's one less "gun death" the anti-gunners can use.
>>
>>28623441
they are nice 1911s too. but sig didnt invent the design
>>
>>28623232

Its pricey, its heavy for its capacity (borderline too big for pocket carry) and its single action only.

That said, I have also been contemplating one myself.

Its definitely on my short list along with the Colt Mustang XSP that it is modeled after, seecamp 380, LCP, NAA Guardian 380, Walther PPK and LC9.

All things considered the LCP is still the king of pocket guns; tiny, light, simple, reliable, cheap. I do like the looks of the 238/938/PPK the best though.

9mm is the same bore as .380 and similar case length.

If you load a .380 with a bullet and powder charge identical to what a 9mm has...

But 9x19 and .380 aren't loaded the same. We all know this. When I said 9mm > .380, I thought it was clear that I wasn't strictly talking about the diameter of the bullet.
>>
>>28623429
It's a reinvention of a colt design. Colt made the Government .380 in a scaled down 1911 with a different trigger and no grip safety. Then they cut 1/4" off the barrel and called it the Mustang .380.

Sig started producing a new copy of the Government .380 called the P238. They Sigged up the slide but it's otherwise a direct copy of the Colt.

They upscaled the P238 from 9x17 to 9x19 and called it the P938. It's the same internals as the Colt, just scaled up a tiny bit.

It's personal preference anyway. Just like .357 and .38, either caliber can be fired out of a gun chambered for the other. It's a personal style thing. I have thankfully never used it but I keep my Bersa Thunder loaded with 9mm.

So good > shit > good > dead

Though they are not kill yet. They're still up and running, the "integration" into Remington's Alabama plant was delayed for unknown reasons.

Also worth noting is that, unlike all the other brands Remington has raped and absorbed, they are totally killing the Para brand once production moves to the Rem plant. Para's designs will be rebranded "Remington" and Para as a name will cease to exist.

>>
>>28624569
Funny way to spell lcp
>>
>>28624569
Shield is pretty mediocre 2bh, outdone by the Glock 43, Walther PPS, hell even the Springfield XDs
>>
>>28624530
The P225 is a compact version of the P220. The P220 was originally sold in 9mm, and also .45 and a few other calibres. The P225 was introduced as a compact version of those, only in 9mm. It's rather large for a 9mm.

SIG released the P239 later, which is scaled down and meant to fit the 9mm, .40, and 357 SIG. It's smaller than the P225.

SIG's "P225-A1" takes new magazines for some undeclared reason. It's still an 8rnd 9mm single-stack pistol, just like the P225 and P239, but won't take either magazines.

In the end it's just functionally a larger P239 with proprietary magazines and a higher pricetag.
>>
>>28624298
No you won't. For at least one reason: the barrel is shorter, which means a) less energy transferred to the bullet and b) inherently lower accuracy of the gun.

The P225 is a little bit chunkier than the P239.

Aside for people who wanted them to bring the P225 back for the sake of having a P225, I really don't quite understand it's place in Sig's line up now.

Plus I have no use for rails on my P239 and don't see the need for them on a P225.
>>
>>28624291

the 938s alloy frame wears significantly faster than your average Sig.

After about 200 rounds with liberal use of grease my frame rails are already showing shiny aluminum.

I've put mine through about a thousand, yes, the aluminium is showing. However, how does this affect the shootability? You're aiming down the slide/barrel combo tightly held onto the frame by a spring, it will not jiggle, and your sight line is not affected.

Just asking. I have the same concern - not planning to baby it, and wondering how long it'll live, and what to do with it then.

Ok, take two 9mm rounds and one pistol.

Take one of the rounds and shoot it in ballistics gel.

Take the other and remove the bullet, dump the powder on a piece of paper, and grind the brass down 2 millimetres. Put the powder back in, put the bullet back, and recrimp.

Shoot that into ballistics gel.

The performance will be INDISTINGUISHABLE.

Barrel length increases mechanical accuracy due to barrel harmonics. In practice, though, shorter barrel usually = shorter sight radius, so the shooter's ability to shoot accurately is diminished. Thus leading to the wide-spread misconception that short barrels are inaccurate,

Slightly off topic, but still in the realm of carry handguns, I have the mk25 (I bought it because I really like the look to it and not for any performance gains, same reason I will be getting the sig elite with rosewood grips and I have a Buckmark with rosewood..it's really nice looking to me) But I also have a old Star PD 45 that shoots flawlessly and is really accurate. Would either of them work for concealed carry? I don't have my permit yet but want to get it soon. The PD is smaller than the mk25 and .45 not 9mm. I use it as a glove box gun since that's legal without a permit where I live and it's already beat up a good bit. Should I look into a compact size for every day carry, you think? Since most of you do carry it would be good to hear real life stuff. Thanks

Had to send mine to sig because the mags would drop automatically while firing causing FTF all the damn time. It's a great pistol but it has its problems. I occasionally would get FTEs with shittier ammo also. It's accurate as hell- shoots like it's a bigger gun and it has really nice sights. Would recommend but test thoroughly before carrying.

Typical idiot who is too poor to own a p938, or anything pricier than a Bersa Thunder.

I own a p938, it has never ftf, the trigger is good with a clean break around 5lbs, and it is accurate as fuck, shoots like a full size. Fits my hand like a glove, and even my girlfriend says it's a pleasure to shoot.

She used to get upset as a nogunz when she would pick up a Shield, LCP, Taurus etc and I'd call it a piece of shit.
Now that she's hasgunz, she understands why I was a bit impatient with her and scoffed at garbage.

She wants a p938 now and a Baby Eagle.
>>
>>28629732
Nothing wrong with the Bersa Thunder. I carried one for years before I replaced it with my P238. I wouldn't say that the Thunder is an ideal CCW but it isn't the worst option out there.
>>
>>28629776
My post isn't about calling the Bersa shit, it's about the fags that can barely afford a $250 gun calling superior weapons shit because they're poor.

I say this all the time but I carry a Glock 30SF. One day my brother-in-law let me try his Glock 21SF for giggles and grins and it concealed just the same. There was hardly any difference. Then I tried a Glock 41 and a Beretta PX4 Storm .45 full-size. They all conceal great. I promise I don't have any attachment to .45, they all just happened to be .45.

So now I am shopping for a full-size carry gun. Some people are just hell bent that they absolutely cannot carry a full-size gun. It's like a mentally imposed limit. My advice would be to give the one you like better a try. Yeah Mk25 is big but how much bigger is it than a full-size Glock? So that's my take. Follow your dreemz, man. Don't listen to the people who say you NEED a mouse gun. They are all tightly-clothed fuccbois.

>into something he thinks sucks
There's the rub.

The difference between poorfags and richfags is that poorfags *think* something, and richfags say "hmm, let me see if shit they're saying is true", buy the thing, test the thing, and make their own conclusion. Then yes, they may agree, having first fucking hand experience with it and not guessing.

Also note, fiddling with something for five minutes, or even firing a couple of hundred rounds through the rental, doesn't count. You have to have prolonged, sustained experience with anything to be eligible to judge it.

STFU, buy one, and come back enlightened.

Well now I know this is bullshit since the trigger pull is rated for 7.5-8lbs. I like the P938, the trigger is heavy but very crisp, but you sound like a shilling cocksucker.
>>
>>28631084
Is it that important? I too wish that the trigger was lighter - but once in a while, my finger jerks spontaneously - and the shot is fired prematurely.

It all depends on how well you're trained. People shoot just fine with much heavier DAO.
>>
>>28631131
Not really, the trigger is short and crisp so the weight doesn't matter as much. I'm just pointing out that anon is lying out his ass if he says the trigger breaks at 5lbs like a normal 1911.

What you should know for it being a first handgun is you are supposed to carry 1911 style handguns cocked & locked. (One in the chamber, with the hammer cocked back). It intimidates alot of first time gun operators.

Condition 3 is also an option. Until you get used to the fact that the safety doesn't release by itself. Or get shot for not being fast enough to rack the slide.

My EDC is a P238, but on my last range trip I had light primer strikes every single time I pulled the trigger. Scared me shitless because I'd been carrying what was more or less a small paperweight for weeks since my last time shooting.

I'm 99% sure it's because I overlubed it, I stripped the thing down and found the firing pin channel full of gunk. Cleaned it thoroughly, haven't had the chance to test it again yet. It's almost definitely my fault, but I don't know how much I trust it after that scare.

So yeah, word of warning to all the P938 owners. Fucking detail strip and clean out your firing pin channel now and then.

Because of the primary purpose of it being a CC gun. Old fudds that have gone through Vietnam and Iraq said this: "you need to learn to shoot the gun you carry". 938 is a good compromise.

I shot a few other guns as well before buying it, and gotta tell that this one feels very good to shoot in comparison to bigger ones - I didn't expect it to be this comfortable. Grows on me as I keep training, too.
