These guys are an old man and his son who have ranched and farmed this land for generations, and the federal fire fighters had a fucking freak out because the old rancher was doing what he and his family have done for generations and had controlled "back burns" in an attempt save the ranch’s winter feed and to remove invasive species.
Now they are being sentenced to five years in federal fuck you in the ass prison trying to say they are arsonists who wanted to hurt firefighters and attack federal lands that his cattle actually graze on.
The rancher is 73 years old and him and his family have been doing this a very long time. Along comes some new hotshit federal fire agents in conjunction with coordinated agency responses to take out their toys and play make believe and arrest him with full special forces wanna bes in tactical gear.
Now the militia is finally standing up to them.
I think this is about to explode and end very badly and no one will win.

The IBEW is not terrible, and once your apprenticeship is up you dont have to take a union job past your contract. Most of the fees go back training others. My nephew got in right out of highschool, he says his class is full of a weird mix of old and new guys.
