There's not enough room for the bolt carrier with convention operating systems. There are a couple prototype rifles like the TKB-022PM that have it super short like that but they never made it to production

They are actually 2 very different guns. The rdb is simplified and improved. I will get one when they are out. And maybe that one from desert tactical too.

It's expensive as fuck, slightly heavy, the trigger is fairly bad, I wish the mag release was in the same place as the newer Tavor version, and I would trade my nuts for the US version's QD mounts.
However as someone who has never owned an AR I like the idea of a more compact package without sacrificing barrel length as a more effective weapon for defense. I had to duct tape on two QD mounts and buy an optic but I like it. I can buy a better trigger once my financial situation recovers from it's ridiculous price.
That and it's probably the best semi automatic non restricted firearm in Canada which is extremely important to us Sryupeans. Had I been born in FreedomLand I would have gotten an AR instead for the modularity and the price point.

I don't like the port QD mount because I prefer having the mount on the right side of the Tavor so I forced a shotgun QD mount into it which works fairly well but it protrudes.

Some do (more notably their pistols though). The reliability problems in general are easily fixed by polishing the moving parts IF you have any issues. Their quality control is getting way better too.

Tbh I've never understood that criticism, I've been able to find most of their guns at fairly reasonable prices. And they do produce less than some companies, but I've never been unable to find one of their guns completely.
