Para makes a double stack 1911, in 9mm, that holds 18 rounds. Yet it is not compatible with the J&G Tokarev conversion barrels.

It's the new version. Uses the same frame,slide, and recoil spring setup as the m45a1. National match barrel and fitted bushing.
I've only put about 100 rounds thru it. Federal and blazer. No failures using Colt and Wilson mags. I'll put another 50 thru it then run hollow points.
I think it's a great value. Traded my series 80 government model Colt and took a 50 dollar hit. I recommend Colt for the resale value in addition to the functionality.

Springfield uses Imbel parts.
They are pretty decent I guess, shot Imbel MD1s and MD7s and they are pretty nice, their original 1911A1 and the double stack version are great.

No. As of 2014, all production is stateside. Before that, ROs, TRPs, and Professionals were fitted and assembled stateside. Those guns will have NM prefixed serial numbers.
Here is my M1911A1.
"Sad but true" -- visited old senpai. friend in Europe years ago. Had a 1911A1 issued by US forces... He died recently. Asked his adult child, Have you seen that gun? Nope. I said, we'll look for it. It's historical, worth a lot, and an unsecured deadly weapon!
My stainless model 80 Colt (no photo, sorry) has feeding/ejecting issues. I'm switching back to ball ammo for range tests. I may NEVER carry it for self-defense, not while there are modern designs (SIG, Glock, S&W M&P, etc.) Seems like a waste to own a 1911.

Surprisingly comfortable. Having it compensated doesn't do much for recoil, but being made of stainless steel adds a good amount of weight to balance it well in your hand
