Let's post some outlandish looking race guns ITT. I'm not particularly concerned with their overall functionality or the quality of the parts used, just post some really weird looking guns. I'll start off with a few I just got from googling "race gun".

The reason, if anybody is interested, is that I just started getting into USPSA shooting. I haven't shot my first match yet but I've taken the class and watched a few of the matches, and some of those guys look like they're packing fucking alien ray guns. Having been raised in a family of hunters and only just gotten into pistol shooting in the last year or so, I've never seen this kind of stuff before and I'm wondering what else is out there.
>>
As a side note, I'm really nervous about shooting actual matches. I could definitely be a better shot and I get performance anxiety especially with a bunch of strangers watching me. I know the rules and what will be expected of me but if anybody has any tips or anything else to put my mind at ease, it'd be much appreciated.

Am I correct in assuming that the most common way to get disqualified is your muzzle passing the firing line? The guy who taught the class I took said all the rules basically boil down to "don't scare the range officer".

That's the plan.

What type of pistol do you have?

>>28375892
Yeah its a break (brake?), keeps the muzzle from riding up,

Not really a "race gun" yet, but my STI Edge 9mm, made good friends with a small shop owner, who is a multiple world champion cowboy action shooter, and he had to meet his quota of STI sales for the end of the year so walked out the door with it for $1500

I've never been in one place long enough to join a club or anything, just get out to whatever range is closest once a month to work whatever I have on hand.

Sorry if shit spelling, think I'm 10ish beers in already

I've been shooting a Glock 19 for the past year (it's also my carry gun) but for Christmas my dad got me a Glock 34 which I'll be using for the competitions. I've only taken it out twice but I really like it.
It's got Warren tactical series sights (plain rear, fiber optic front) and a DK custom trigger. I actually just installed those today, my first time doing any real work like that on a gun. It was a lot more fun than I thought, and it kinda makes me wanna buy more parts just so I have an excuse to take it apart again...

I've talked to you about it on at least two occasions here. My finger was on the trigger, but I didn't trust the gunsmithing at whatever armory they might have been modified at so I went with a 941f instead. My favorite full-size semi-auto handgun to this day, perhaps only eclipsed by the SIG P210.

Your pictures are awesome, thanks again for sharing them.

Awesome man, I'd just warn against doing much to the gun until your skills are better. Too many guys throw all the fancy shit on their pistol right away to compensate for the fact they suck ass. I don't know how to say it really, but its like a 16 year old learning to drive standard in a super car. But then again you might be really experienced and I'm insulting your intelligence.

Everyone at one point was in your shoes; getting into their own head.

Just shoot and do your best. I'm sure if you make mistakes someone may step forward to give you pointers...which equals a friendly face the rest of the event and future.

Regardless do your best and be there for yourself. Don't try to impress anyone. If you make a mistake then you make a mistake...learn from it and move on.

This is mine and it's about as plane jane as you can get. Well, not really.I think the frame is the only stock part, it just doesn't look absurd.

I don't shoot USPSA, I just got a really good deal on it. I wouldn't recommend the Trijicon RMRs for USPSA at all- they are great and super durable, but they cost more than other options and the window is small. The glass also has a blue tint to it that on certain backgrounds and targets can make it hard to resolve.

It is a great carry sight, though, if you were so inclined. It lasts essentially forever. Because mine is a 35 and 35 is chambered in 40, I occaionally get a piece of glock bulged reloaded brass that didn't get properly roll sized, and I can whack the RMR against my truck bed or whatever the fuck I want to open the slide when it sticks on that.

Also, go LED + batteries over dual illuminated. LED is waaaaaay brighter and autodarkens or brightens. Also some weird shit happens with dual illuminated models if you are shooting from a darkened or shadowed sheltered area into a bright one.

You can definitely use an RMR. I just think for the money the CMore will be better, faster, and just more suited to that sort of thing.

Plus, a slide mounted dot dashes back and forth- one mounted on a frame mount, like a lot of the Cmores- doesn't move as much.

I have heard that sentiment from a lot of Tanfo owners. I want the big one out of the gate.

That's on my "If I win the lottery" list.
Serious Italian sexiness, but with a price tag to match.

It would be cool to try a defensive caliber Pardini, I bet that trigger is sweet as fuck. They don't even post a price on the hand crafted Inox GT's
>>
>>28378211
It's one of those "If you have to ask..." sort of things.
I don't even like going to restaurants without prices on the menus, so there is probably no point in me trying to get a lead on a gun like that.
But, yeah I imagine carrying a Pardini as a defensive gun would be the first.

I dug into getting a price for a Korth revolver and only got disappointment, so I've learned my lesson with that.
