Compared to an infantry fireteam, how effective is a sniper team in a firefight?
>>28355431
Depends. In a full blown firefighter sniper teams can be used to huge effect as observers, not necessarily shooting people.

>If the sniper has time to position and is briefed on a location with his unit,
very effective. The entire team can virtually cover an entire location, but Its not like the sniper is +10'ing every hostile target. Probably more of a scout than anything.
>if sand niggers ambush randomly which they do 99% of the time
Less effective yet given a few seconds to find cover, can turn it around. Then again sand niggers will probably run away after the first few seconds of a firefight if they don't pick someone off.
>sniper team
>in firefight
Modern snipers are operating at such an extended range they should never be IN a firefight.
If you meant a Designated Marskman group, I'd wager they'd be more effective depending on what kind of suppressive/covering fire they had with them. Hard to line up at an accurate shot with a truck full of Hajji bearing down on you.
>Compared to an apple, how effective is an orange in a fruit basket?
>>28356168
apples are shit tier fruit though, so the orange is better
Depends entirely on the soldiers and the situation.
snipers ARE infantryman, they just wanted to get hazed a whole lot more and can shoot pretty good.

Neither should JTACs or FO's but they end up in firefights all the time. Because you don't always have the initiative. And you have to move in an area dominated by insurgents/enemy
