I'm intrigued about the 100 yard pistol cartridge but it's almost extinct on the west coast where I live.
Would make a good subgun caliber. However, for normal everyday use, there's little it offers over a standard 9x19mm, which is far cheaper both in training ammo & carry ammo.
If your company or country picks up your tab, go for it if you feel like it. But if you pay for it yourself, I don't see much of a point in bothering unless you're rich & have money to throw out the window.

My G32 was the first gun I ever bought myself.
It only comes along to the range with me 2 or 3 times a year though because I can't justify/afford spending the extra cash to train with it regularly.
Shoots great but I may sell it because of those reasons :(

Looking at Underwood's specs for their ammo, it more or less reaches that. More commonly available commercial ammo will be more lightly loaded, though, but still faster than non +p 9mm (.357magnum is the same way, though).

357 sig is not as powerful as a 357 mag, it hits hard, but not anywhere near as hard.
Enjoy having to spend $35 just for a box of 50 carts, they are expensive.

A Coonan, I want one actually. I'd even be wiling to trade both my 629 and sp101 for a Coonan of it would cover the retail but it wouldn't.
The 629 is really heavier than I like for backpacking which is why I bought it buy since it's only blackbear and maybe a trail pirate or two it's overkill. The sp101 is okay but only 5 shoot and not near as nice a gun as the Smith.

Go for it, just make sure you source some ammo first. Georgia Arms sells bulk reloads - "Canned Heat", for a pretty good price. Ran through 500 of them with my P226 without a single problem.
