I want a semi auto rifle in 556 or 762. However I live in new york and I don't want a frankenstein ar15/ak. What other options are avaliable to me? I know about the mini14 but not much else.

I don't think I can get an sks anymore because of the bayonet. I really do like the mini 14. My friend has a 5801 model. They're just a little more than I'd like to pay for one.

The SKS has a fixed magazine so the bayonet does not matter. I live in Jewchester in Jew York so know exactly what your feeling. I have recently purchased an SKS in 7.62x39, a Saiga in 7.62x39, a .30 carbine, and have changed the grip on my Bushmaster AR-15 in .223. There are many options.

Always one of you guys I swear. The mini isn't expensive for what it is or how it's made. The price is the same as it ever was but adjusted for inflation. There is one manufacturer of mini and they aren't cranking out 50,000 a years. It doesn't have many competitors and for the supposed high price they still manage to sell very well.
