Also is that a short gas tube or a long MOE hand guard? They don't have a guard long enough to cover it all the way to the gas block on the magpul website.

The 90 degree gas block makes the tube look shorter.

I have a strong desire to create two abominations.
One being an AK in .223 dressed up to look as close to an AR as possible and take AR mags, and the other being an AR in 7.62x39 dressed up to look as close as possible to an AK and get a lower that takes AK mags.
My only conflict is if I should get an AR upper that uses a side charging handle or if that would be cheating since AK's can't get a top charging handle like an AR has.
