for the longest time I wanted a P230 and 1897, but for actual use I'm not a fan of pump shotguns or DA/SA pistols.

They're not bad, competed with it and did meh with it. Had one amusing fuck up though, don't know if I didn't seat the mag all the way or if I accidentally hit the mag release.

I really wasn't a fan of the stock grips but the Nills I replaced them with make it my most comfortable pistol.
the short two-stage trigger is very light and crisp.
the safety was a bit stiff at first but working it a good deal broke it in nicely.
the test target from the factory grouped just over an inch at 50 yards. I've not personally replicated that but it is very easy to shoot accurately.
it's by far my favorite pistol, but for most I'd sooner recommend a Browning Hi Power.
a vintage P210 is three times that of a vintage BHP, but it's not three times the pistol.

Well I've been eyeing a few 50's era BHP's, so i guess I'll give em a shot come net pay day. One thing i like about older pistols is that they seem to have been built by people who actually gave a fuck, which is what attracts me to the P210's especially

for a BHP I'd suggest two things:
watch a youtube tutorial and remove the magazine disconnect,
and order a set of grips from Craig Spegel.
I'm totally with you on vintage guns. most of my favorites I own are from the '80s, but I've also got a Colt Python that turned 50 this year.
it is a shame so many aren't made like they used to, but I was still psyched to hear when the P210 was brought back with the Legend model. I'm glad Hi Powers are still in production too.

Took half a mag to dial in, and hasn't deviated since. The BDC reticle isn't the best, but for the 1-300 yd shooting I generally do, it's more than good enough.
