I think the heart of your argument is in the right place, but the main purpose is to depress wages so the wealthy have to pay less. There are also no small number of people who genuinely hate the west and want it exterminated. Gun control would be a desireable but happy addition. Generally they use all the crazy people outside the asylums for that. Easier to claim they were right wing extremists rather than politically correct members of the religion of peace.
