Honestly I think the desert eagle is. It's heavy, expensive, high recoil, and unreliable. You can't conceal carry it, it's novelty would wear off fast in oc with the weight, and I don't think I've heard of any police or military force that has ever employed it.

Then they learned how hard it was to find 7.92mm mauser compared to 5.56 while scavenging houses, and also how the 5 round magazine actually fucking sucks.
Whereas the M16 that only one of the players picked up when they were in the army camp, and the rest of the party passed up because the rest thought it was constantly-jamming garbage, is still functioning fine. The guy using it is more than happy with 30 rounds to work with and decent ammo. Whereas the rest of them are still using shitty bolt actions and half of them have gotten eaten alive already because of their dumb-ass nonsense (I made the zombies move at a brisk walk so they'd actually be challenging)
As for AKs, they're pretty close with M16s, I made them SLIGHTLY more reliable, but since they aren't used by any militaries and this takes place in America, they are only finding semi-auto AKs or even worse Cali-tier bullet button monstrosities.
