OK fags I am going into Mordor to buy a truck soon can i bring my M&P 40 with me I have modified it to have a smaller grip like the M&P 40c (10 rnd mag) and bought it back in 2012
>inb4 S&W tries to sue me for modifying their gun
>pic related basically what Ive done to mine
>>
>>28290649
you can bring it but ca doesnt consider other states ccw as valid so if you do want it to be legal it will be empty in a locked container
>>
>>28290693

^^ so pretty much dont bother. If you do need it, you'll die before you unlock it, then the nigger will take your gun along with your money.

Jesus fuck guys, is it really this difficult to watch a few knife fighting videos on youtube and pack a 5"+ blade?
>>
>>28290649
you can keep loaded magazines as long as they arent in the pistol, in the same locked container as the pistol. a car trunk counts as a locked container. so you can throw your handgun with action open and loaded mags next to it in the trunk. but if you have a ccw from another state its not valid in california

make sure to decontaminate your truck when you return home, or you might spread the liberal cancer to other states faster
>>
Why would you even want to come to this shit hole?
>>
>>28290712
in california, carrying a fixed blade knife regardless of length in a concealed manner is an instant felony, its a worse penalty than the misdemeanor wobbler of loaded handgun with no ccw. so i advise against that as an alternative. maybe keep a folding knife but pepper spray is probably more efficient for self defense. also, depending on what county or city location you are, there are gay length limits on even folding knives.

gravity knife and automatic knives with blade longer than 2 inches are illegal to carry anywhere in ca

I plan to contaminate it with as much freedom as possible once I'm back in the land of the free.
>>
>>28290733
I was going to ask OP the same question but didnt dog him on it because of his humor in calling us Mordor. at least he's only here to make a quick trip, i would feel bad if he was moving here. also to OP: where are you buying the truck from? dont forget california is a hugely faggot state that has one of the highest sales taxes in the nation, so make sure you are taking tax into account. state tax is 7.5% but most cities and counties have additional sales tax, most places in california have 9-10% sales tax
>>
>>28290771
oddly if its unconcealed in a sheath you can carry a fixed blade of anysize
go nuts carry a katana
>>
>>28290771
>in a concealed manner
Fun fact, you can wear that shit in the open and be fine (assuming you aren't in certain counties/cities that have their own laws). This is why the characters in Sons of Anarchy go around with ka-bars on their belts.
>>
>>28290805
yeah thats why i was making sure he knew not to conceal it. keeping a fixed blade knife in your car or truck out of sight is considered concealed, and would give you a felony if found. lets say you are bringing over some cooking knives to your friends house. if it's in the passenger compartment of your vehicle in a bag, you would be guilty of a felony. what a fucked up state
>>
>>28290816
this is true, but be prepared for unwanted attention from liberal soccer moms who will call the police saying a man with a knife was eye raping them in a menacing manner while you wait in the checkout line at walmart

>>
>>28290919
Legally? Maybe.

Will the cops care if it is legal? No.
>>
>>28290712
lockbox that conveniently has the key in it and it's right next to you is legal

>EY YO NIGGAS DIS CRACKA GOTTA GUN

do it OP
>>
>>28290871
just get one of those little lockboxes, keep gun with action open and loaded mags in it, carry in backpack when out or in car, when inside hotel or buddies house you can load up and no need to keep it locked. what part of CA are you going to? sounds like your buddy is in military, so i am guessing maybe pendleton or vandenberg? or corona near san diego?
>>
>>28290712
The only person who wins in a knife fight is the knife
>>
>>28290919
yes you can legally keep it accessible in your vehicle, but not primed with caps. once primed with caps it is treated as a firearm in california, and subject to conceal carry laws.

California PC 16840(b)(2):

2) Notwithstanding paragraph (1), a muzzle-loader firearm shall
be deemed to be loaded when it is capped or primed and has a powder
charge and ball or shot in the barrel or cylinder.
>>
it is not legal if loaded and primed (ie, actually useful for self defense), see my reply here

>>28291042
>>
>>28291016
lol, wont argue with this, if you're up against someone who knows what the fuck they're doing. If its some illiterate thug, all bets are off and personally I'd take my chances with a ka-bar well before my bare hands.

Family friend is a retired cop whose seen some people get super fucked up just with a knife. His advice in a defensive situation is to "just stab the fuck out of em, as fast as you can". Says if they're armed, you go for the wrists/forearm first and they'll instinctively drop their weapon as soon as they're cut, otherwise straight for the leg to drop them, then throat

legally yes, charges could be filed, practicality no, since pretty much any cop, and then a DA/prosecutor, would see there was not an intent to commit a crime there.

usually the fact you know it is illegal has to be proved as well. but lets say you committed some other (serious) crime and were already under arrest, after your car gets searched, they would throw that on as a tack on charge because thats how the system works. once they get you for something, they try to find everything possible to throw at you

just because it wont hold up in court doesnt mean you wont get arrested or charged for it, hence the old phrase "you can beat the rap but not the ride"

you gonna upgrade that shit when you get back to freedom land, like pic related?

You can't or you're not allowed to carry a gun? If you're only going to be in that shithole excuse of a state for a few hours, then keep it concealed. Don't act suspicious and you won't draw attention to yourself. Get in, get out and don't be retarded about it
>>
>>28291632
hes not allowed to. california doesnt acknowledge the right of people to carry using permits from different states. they only acknowledge california issued permits. ruling class praetorians like LEOs are exempt, of course.

This fucking law is so stupid. I've always wanted one of those nice little pocket-size fixed blade knives, like a Bark River or something, but they're illegal here despite being no more dangerous than a folder.

At least we can OC them, though. I'm pretty sure that just like the firearm OC laws here, it's only legal because we have so much hunting and other outdoor activities where knives and guns need to be carried.
