Any other retailers starting to pull this BS right now, or is Atlantic kicking off the start?

OP, loosen up the tin foil a tad

what bullshit? panic buyers increase order volumes. they are a cancer
>>
sgammo too, according to them this current panic was initially harder on them than Sandy Hook. Though they're way more established now than they were back then, so it hit them subjectively harder.

Also this stuff has been up since ISIS took San Bernardino.

they have had that up for like 3 weeks (or ever how long its been since the ISIS attack).

But to be fair, my rep for davidsons has told me they are struggling to maintain their inventory. about 2 weeks ago they sold 290 DMPS Oracles in 1 day, which was all of their stock.

Increasing short term pricing is not

I haven't seen any yet, but doesn't surprise me. Companies that will make money due to panic trying to cause a panic.

It's plenty fine, it's called capitalism. Vendors can charge whatever the fuck they want, whenever they want. You have the freedom not to buy.

I work for a shipping company. It's the busiest time of year. Your shit will be be shipped but because it's the holidays there's a lot of volume to be moved. Also don't forget that because of DOT rules delivery drivers can only work 60 hours a week max.

Whatchu mean? Economically speaking you can crunch the numbers and if you profit more from a price increase despite your volume drops it's OK. But, there's a principle that's broken and an inefficiency created whenever someone controls a market and forces prices up.

It drives people out of the market, and creates "Dead Weight Loss." So in that case it is not efficient in the economic sense to drive prices up.

You have to analyst and discover if there's a shortage before it's really ethical to raise prices.

>I cry when my AR get's scratches on the brass deflector
>>
>>28279007
Because you're a faggot son.
>>
>>28278916
It's not about what's most efficient, it's about the rights of capital owners. Having 100+ separate AR manufacturers isn't efficient at all.
>>
>>28279137
Economics dictate what you can or cannot do. They can raise prices to whatever they like but it has consequences in efficiency, profit margins, supply and demand. If they manipulate the market by lowering the supply in order to raise prices and profit on units more, that creates an inefficiency, and believe it or not, economics does concern itself with measuring and mitigating those.

Do you think gov. has no place in economies? Like we should allow every market to turn into a pure monopoly?

Or you should be allowed to create an inefficiency to maximize your profits? For some markets, like firearms the effect on the lives of the people isn't very important, but that exact scheme is what caused the Irish Famine, which killed millions.
>>
>>28279210
>implying there's a natural convergence to monopolistic industries
Outside of local monopolies, or short stints, monopolies can't exist in a purely capitalistic system. They'll be out competed.

WHAT new gun control? Nothing's been said, and barely been speculated, let alone discussed or passed.

Why would they say "new gun control" instead of "holiday surge" or something appropriate?
>>
>>28279247
That's not true at all, in a pure Capitalist system if I have more money than you I can force my capital suppliers not to do business with you, and collude to fix prices within the industry maximizing my profits and creating barriers so high to you entering the industry that it's all but impossible for competition to enter.

The government is the only thing keeping the Sprint and T-Mobile competitive. AT&T and Verizon could merge at any time and become the only company offering that service and they could charge whatever they like.
>>
>>28279289
Because they want the panic to start, they'll make massive profits if they do.
>>
>>28279247
lol go back to class and find out what barriers to entry are.

>>
>>28281878
Isn't that illegal?

Don't you look like a crazy hobo when taking the brass?
>>
>>28282379
no, it's not illegal. no, you look like a reloader. most people just leave the brass on the ground because they can't be assed to pick it up/sell it/reload

it's like how some guys fix cars and some guys just bring them into the shop. the guy who fixes his cars saves on the labor so it comes out cheaper (but with more time sunk). it's like reloading vs buying factory ammo.
>>
>>28282379
>>28282436
Be sure to ask before taking someone else's brass. It's still their property unless they leave or give you permission to have it. I've heard some violent stories on here about people taking someone else's brass when they didn't appreciate it.

Century also builds WASRs with new parts kits now, not shitty old surplus rifles, and have stepped up their QC

That said there is no reason to buy a WASR above $500, when you can get a C39 or DDI of vastly superior quality

Although the WASRs are supposed to hold up to full auto quite well, if you plan on doing that

There's some truth to this.

>go to LGS today
>shelves are fucking empty
>no, they're really, REALLY empty
>talk to owner, he says he can't keep anything in stock and most items are back-ordered right now

Out of the ~20 guns he had left, about 1/2 were on consignment. His only remaining stock were some 10/22s, a couple lever actions, and a few handguns. For reference, he's a small shop that usually has around 60 guns on display with more in the back.

It's not just panic buyers who already own six AKs and six ARs, what you're seeing now is actually mostly first time buyers buying those rifles. Guys, ask yourselves, would you rather have millions of first time buyers buying up every black rifle imaginable, or would you rather have a population who will never buy any of them and simply turn the other cheek when we finally have federal gun control thrown at us?

If you don't own a black rifle of some sort by now then you have no right to bitch. I bought my first one at 18, living on my own, making $7.50/hrs, recycling cans and bringing back scrap copper. Stag Model 1 for $1024 after taxes.
