I would like to see a statistic comparing how often someone has fired a firearm in their life and the homicide rate by firearms. I bet it is inversely proportional.

smoking and over eating is statistically worse than guns only because it kills you incrementally. a gun is BLAM done. its easy to kill with a gun making it more desirable to use. i knife on the other hand is a lot of work and a lot less desirable.
if someone pisses a melanin enriched gentleman off and the only thing he carried was a knife, he would be a lot less inclined to kill you.
my suggestion is to keep guns but at least admit you have a gun problem. you just have to execute gun dealers in the black market and only sell to people with sense

Why? Read up on people sticking their head in the oven in England, once it was no longer possible to kill yourself easily and painlessly in your own home, suicides dropped by a third.
You'd imagine people not being able to shoot themselves would just hang or jump off a bridge, but they're not exactly rational, it's often a spur of the moment and other methods require more planning/time

Tell that to my uncle who got stabbed 10 times by a mugger because he only had $10 in his pocket. He spend a month in the hospital, two days in a medically induced coma and all the nigger got was 5 yrs for aggravated assault which he only served 3 for "good behavior".
