helo

what are some good 5.56 rifles, preferably semi auto, available in the USA, BESIDES AR'S, I REPEAT: NOT AR'S OR AR VARIANTS?
>>
>>28065078
How aboutan Ar-15?
>>
Ruger mini 14
>>
>>28065122
no, ar is too expensev for a good oen
>>
>>28065078
so you dont want cheap as fuck market ARs but expensive 5.56 semi auto alternatives??
>>
>>28065155
preferably cheap 5.56 rifle so I can buy ammo at walmart whilst still using a military caliber
>>
>>28065201
you'll have to go bolt then if you want cheap kid and you can get an AR for around the same price.
>>
>>28065150
This or the Kel-Tec rifles are the only real answers.
There isn't much after that.
>>
AR15
>>
>>28065227
surely there must be a 5.56 semiauto rifle cheaper than an ar15
>>
>>28065241
dunno man SU16 prices are pretty expensiveness.
>>
>>28065253
Nope.
>>
>>28065253
if you think an ar is too expensive in this market you cant afford anything and should look into another hobby
>>
>>28065253
No. There really isn't. Semi auto anything is going to be more than an AR-15. Tell me, how much do you think is "too much" for an AR-15?
>>
>>28065279
from what I hear 500$ is the standard price for a shitty ar, good ones being 1000$+, basically more than i can spend on a gun at this time
>>
>>28065078
AR15- $500
ACR - $1500~
Tavor - $1600
AUG - $1700
FS2000 - $1900
SCAR 16S- $2200+

if you're talking about bolt guns you can get any entry level model in .223 (Savage Axis, etc)
>>
>>28065297
500 dollar ARs are perfectly serviceable. Whoever told you it's necessary to spend 1000 bucks on an AR for it to be good is retarded. You also sound underaged, so you probably can't buy a gun anyway.

OP is literally a child.

>>
>>28065358
>lol he sed somthing funny so i am goin to say it too XD
damn parrots GTFO!!!
>>
>>28065201
if you cant afford 500 bucks for a fucking ar theres no way you will shellout 300-400 for a thousand bullets

Everything else is dogshit.
>>
>>28065417
are the 5.56 aks fairly cheap?
>>
>>28065514
Just as cheap as the AR's that op can't afford

>>
>>28065567
is it true that 500$ AR'S are shit though?
>>
>>28065591
Not necessarily. PSA makes some good stuff.
>>
>>28065591
500 tends to get you a partskit gun with no sites and 1 mag

realistically a complete ar15 is 600-700
>>
OK

op here, so it sounds like my best option for 5.56 semi auto would be to get an AR

is it better to custom build an AR or can i get a good one for 500$ prebuilt?

what are some good brands for around 500$?

is it cheaper to build an ar as opposed to buying it fully built?

basically the reason I don't want an AR is because I have heard that the cheap ARs are shit and the good ones are really expensive, I don't want to waste my money on a piece of shit
>>
>>28065654
>500 dollary doos is my price range
> I need a semi 5.56 that isn't shit but lelkek SU16 is 2 spensive
>I basically did no research at all
>>
>>28065654
Buy a completed lower and upper from PSA. Just don't get PTAC. Pretty much any other AR parts from PSA will be fine.
>>
>mom n dad will buy me something for christmas! they'll totally go up to 500! Im gonna ask for a gun!
>talk to friends DUDE U NEED A M16
>dude u cant get m16 unless u were in the army he cant get one he should get something that shoots m16 bullits
TL;DR: OP is gay for friend #2 and doesn't want to buy an AR and prove him wrong.

How about an HK33 clone? I'd be wary of the Century Arms built ones. But Vector makes excellent clones.

Can anyone confirm if the SU's live up to their awesomeness?
>>
>>28065738
dude, im a 25 yr old construction worker and i have my own house, mom n dad don't pay for shit, I want 5.56 because of availability of ammunition(literally walmart, also the fact that u.s. military uses 5.56), im not some spoiled rich faggot like some of you faggots I have a budget literally I bought my first car, i pay for my house, i pay for my guns, mommy and daddy didn't pay for shit, i ask an honest question and this is what i get?! the nerve of these niggers!
>>
>>28065700
is it even worth it to buy a fully built ar, if so what's a good brand?
>>
>>28065154
it's $600 for a good ar now.
>>28065150
back in day, this was a good budget choice, but mini 14s are more expensive than starter ar15s now.

>>28065201
buy your ammunition online. for me, steel case is 21 cents a round, brass 28 cents a round.

>>28065297
you can build a $600 ar that lives up to the milspec standards. but fancy free floated handguards, nice triggers, gucci barrels and coated bcgs, that's what drives up the prices.

the $600 ones will perform far better than an su16 or a mini14 desu.

>>28065417
5.56 aks have more problems than any other ak.

>>28065591
it's good enough to fight with

>>28065645
meh, $550 with a $50 matech.

>>28065654
custom? build the lower your self with roll pin punches, a hammer, and a wrench and slap whatever upper you want.

>>28065743
still a fag

>>28065822
they're amazingly light, pretty decent. it won't hold up to sustained fire, the handguard can catch on fire after multiple mag dump. but for a backpack gun or plinking, it's decent. rather have an ar15
>>
>>28065934
There's no real advantage. Putting together a completed upper and lower is as easy as pushing the takedown pins back in.

PSA. Colt, S&W. Anderson, Ruger, Del-Ton. There are more but you can look through deals on slickguns. It will be hard to beat PSA for cost/quality ratio though.
>>
>>28066005
Forgot to mention, those manufacturers make good ARs for under $1000. If you go above that, then there are quite a few more.
>>
>>28065971
SU Anon here
Thanks! Def looking into one now.
>>
>>28066029
i probably just get colt parts and put it together myself, i mean its colt how could it be shit right?

is colt parts expensive?
>>
>>28066157
It will be a good rifle but it will also be more expensive than PSA. You'll be paying a premium for a name. If you want to spend that extra then go for it. Take it from someone who owns a Colt rifle.
>>
>>28065078
AR-15
>>
>>28065654
Never buy a AR, always build it. Cheaper and you get exactly what you want for your rifle.
>>
>>28065078
SCAR 16S.
