ok /k/, i just put together my upper and lower today. have a fully assembled lower and upper. i was just messing around today and wracking it a little when all of the sudden it wouldn't rack at all and now when ever i try to use the charging handle, it just completely hangs.

I have made sure it was not the buffer spring because i can depress the spring with now issue when i have the two separated. The main issue i can see is that there is already a weird wear pattern on the charging handle. the little crown on the end of the charging handle is already worn down to almost non existent....

please help

picture is the charging handle that came with the kit
>>
you forgot to trofulate it, moron
>>
ill try to post a picture of the charging handle in just a minute. It is a DPMS charging handle that came with the kit. All of the other parts work fine.

Good one. No one's dumb enough to fall for this bait.
>>
>>28057290
mhm...sure.....
>>
>>28057294
im not trolling surprisingly enough....I really think I fucked it up
>>
>>28057324
Look man. Trolling or not this is dumb bait. Pull the bolt out, look at it. Is the bolt carrier key all fucked up. It sounds like it isn't there anymore.
>>
>>28057405
my bolt carrier key is still there and there is no wear on it what so ever. I can't pull the bolt or charging handle back at all

goddamn it wrong picture here is a picture of the actual bolt carrier key and that is a picture of the charging handle
>>
>>28057435
ok, have a nice day
>>
>>28057508
You sure you popped it in correctly before the BCG went in?

Without the BCG in, the CH should slide back and forth in the upper smoothly. Pop the gun open and look for something in the charging handle channel or something.
>>
anyone have any idea what's wrong with it?
>>
>>28057594
with either peice of the gun solely in the gun they both move freely
>>
>>28057620
Ok. That's good.

When you put the BCG in with the handle and close it, what happens? Where does it freeze up? Does it pull backwards and not go forwards? Does it not go in in the first place? Describe it.

Oh, and don't worry about the bolt carrier key, seems fine.
>>
>>28057644
everything goes into the gun just fine. once I close the AR up is when the problems arise. The bolt carrier nor charging handle really move at all. I'm able to unlatch the charging handle but that's about it
>>
>>28057738
Sounds like the detent for the buffer tube is preventing this
>>
>>28057738
Ok start isolating things.

Will the BCG go into the buffer tube when the gun's open? Could be a buffer retaining pin problem.

Can the BCG be pushed back when the gun's closed up without the CH in it?

Try different things.
>>
>>28057523
Post the underbelly of the BCG, as much as you can fit in the frame.
>>
>>28057764
ok so, I just talked to the brownell's customer service chat. It ended up that the main problem might be that I don't have a barrel attached and it is over traveling.

I can make the bolt carrier group go into the buffer tube.

When i push the BCG into buffer tube it works just fine.

>barrel isn't attached

You don't think that was important to include when asking our help?
>>
>>28057864
>>28057877
Honestly? I didnt think it mattered.....Im sorry guys...
>>
>>28057877
>>28057864
Is there a way to see if that is the actual problem? the guy from brownell's said "install a barrel" so yeah I don't have a barrel to install yet...
>>
>>28057886
But it did end up being important.

In the future make sure to include all the information. And quit trying to function check a gun that isn't finished. No wonder it didn't work correctly
>>
>>28057912
If everything else is in working order and in-spec it's pretty safe to assume that the absence of the most critical component of a firearm is the cause.
>>
>>28057922
>>28057924
ok... yeah... I'll stop messing with the with the gun till the barrel gets here....

thanks for the help guys.
>>
>>28057951
Now post tits for our time, m8.

Not your tits though
>>
one more question.

Do i need to get a new charging handle? it does look really really fucked up now.
>>
>>28057983
Looks like just the coating that's messed up. No worries. It's still structurally sound.
>>
>>28057995
ok thanks man!
>>
>>28057983
1. Quit fucking with parts
2. Lube it. Those parts look dry as fuck
3. Fucking lubricate them man.

Watch YouTube videos on proper lubing
>>
>>28058011
