I just picked up a pair of picture related with the one large audio plug. what radios and ptt's are going to work with it? baofeng? my ten year old talkabouts?

You can use it with just about anything as long as you can either buy or make the needed adapters.
You probably can't find adapters labeled as baofeng, however they use the same interface as kenwood radios, so look for those instead.
That is a U-174 connector, same as helicopter flight helmets/headsets. Google away.

What would I call the object in pic related if I was trying to buy one online?
Tactical headphones mic?

Not oapie, look up peltor headset.

The first major question is where did you get it? There are a lot of airsoft copies out there that look real, even do the noise cancelling amplification, although poorly. They can still be used but the pinout on them is different than real Peltors.

Holy shit. They're more expensive than I thought.
What specs should I be looking for?

Bump
Get on my level

That's cute.

Airshit has plenty of PTTs that connect the standard "military plug" to Kenwood 2 pin.
Reliability may be random, but they're cheap.

Are you me? I've been asking the same question for days in QTDDTOT, comms, and ear pro threads
>>28032255
They're not amped. With airsoft repro's the user can receive transmissions but not send, so it has to be modded which can be rather expensive
Oh, don;t suppose anyone knows the difference between the Comtac IIIs in OP's pic, and the XP/XPi's?

>They're not amped.
Ah indeed, there is an impedance problem.
Oh well, smoke signals will do just fine.
>>28029176
there is a group on facebook that makes and trades pushtotalks for peltors that make it work with any radio.
>>28032838
got the name of group?
>>28031846
If you want just hearing pro, Howard leight impact will suffice and has audio jack
