The blade is surprisingly good quality. Most locals who go into the palms for work use one for chopping.
The two hold in the top edge of the scabbard should hold a thin rope and a toggle.
This is for slinging it from loin cloth if you are in a catholic island or from a piece of rope if you are on a traditional island where no one wears much.
