So, my grandfather is gifting me one of these rifles, he told me to choose between a remington 700 and a steyr ssg 69
need advice,Which one is better?
Steyr blows Remington out of the water.

Assuming it will be a new manufacture Remington, the Steyr is a better quality rifle (an a very cool action to boot). However, if aftermarket is important to you the Remington will be the rifle to have.

I Saw them and they're pretty worn off a bit.
Steyr by far no contest.

>all those steyr ssg, shotguns, FALs
>eventually all shelved for AKs because only ammo left was soviet shit from a long time ago.

Machining, materials, quality, fit and finish are all higher on the Steyr.

no it's a famas

Better fit and finish, better QA, better barrel.
I think it's against the law to make shitty guns in Germany.

Everything aside from afternarket. And that's only because anybody can make better parts than Remington, giving them market share. The 700 started as a cheap alternative to real bolt actions, and have only gone downhill.

Steyr is Austrian

are you stupid on purpose ?
or is this low hanging bait ?
>>27968186
I expected nothing less from you.

Steyr stopped making them this year. Remington still mass produces the 700. In terms of long term value the answer is pretty clear.
