How dangerous is it?
You can, if you are a skilled machinist with blueprints it's safe. I wouldn't recommend it otherwise. I was a MR in the seabees, only one in my battalion, and got solid machining experience there. I worked for salient arms until the Vegas move as well.

Not much, but just because it fired a few times that way doesn't mean you won't have a catastrophic failure later after a few dozen rounds. Honestly just hit up gunbroker or armslist, a lot of 92fs just got auctioned by Italy and Mag release aside are pretty OK for price and can be modded. There is also Bersa or Star, if you have some money 80% 1911 kits or just a RIA 1911. If you just want it for shots and giggles search for zipgun blue prints

You can find a used mill for the same price as one of their pistols. I really didn't learn Shit at that shop, just kept from getting rusty. A mill, some calipers, a height gauge, rotary tool, punches, and chambering reamer is all
I used to make them. Stippling wise, just a soldering iron. So like $2,250 for all the tooling to make them, roughly under 400 for the pistol parts to mod a glock to be exactly the same minus gay logo and pimp (TiN) coating.

If you try this build, you'll want 3x as much raw material off the bat. You will mess up, it's ok, And remember, it's illegal to do this so only build it in a real life simulator.

This is something I am interested as well. There's a place nearby that sells memberships and gives access to lathes and cnc machines and such. Knowing that I was thinking of making a simple single (maybe double) action revolver as a project to keep me occupied. You think this would be possible for an amateur or would I just be making an expensive and time consuming hand grenade/ paper weight?
