Ask a guy whose been waiting 20 minutes for this box of .22lr anything.

Funny thing is I've already called the store and asked for an associate. Guess I'll be "that guy" and call again.
>>
>wasting time with .22lr

There's a reason I have my 10/22 sitting in the corner of my room with the action packed full of axle grease, the bore oiled down, and the stock waxed.

Last time I paid for .22lr, it was around $40 for a box of Automatch.

Meanwhile, .223/5.56 is still plentiful and cheap as always.
>>

>over 7c/r after tax
and this is why I always tell people that they may as well buy a high speed pellet rifle for plinking fun
or else jump up to ~20-25c/r centerfire
I just can't get excited about 22lr any more.

Be graphic on how inconvenient it was for you to wait. And dissatisfied with their service.
Maybe they will give you a gift card

Pick me up a few boxes of that ZQI 9mm, Senpai

i wonder what the story is with 17hmr? ive never seen it at walmart before and now each one i go to (that sells ammo) has atleast a few boxes of it
>>

I bought a pellet rifle because of the 22 bullshit. Couldn't find ammo at all for my 22s
>>

Lol I did this when some cunt Walmart worker refused to let me have the last two cases of YooHoos at the sale price.

Will do. It's on my list to buy up after I clear out the perfecta.

Nah. Not worth it.

That would be a valid argument, if good 22 pellet stock weren't just as expensive per round as 22lr.

.22 situation up here in Alaska is similar. Old fat fudds will line up in front of stores an hour or two before opening just to get their one box. Its weird. I just pick up a box if I happen to see one. No way in hell am I waiting in line in the cold for one.

I shoot 177 pellets only so their pretty cheap for plinker pellets. The poly tipped ones actually cost as much as 22lr, but I strictly use those for hunting and they're nasty.
They expand really well without losing weight and shoot really flat because they have such a high BC vs other pellets.
The sight wheel on my irons is this. 12 o clock for 8gr poly pellets, 6 o clock clockwise for normal 8gr flatter nosed pellets going the same speed, and 8 o clock for the 10.5gr pellets that go 100fps slower than either of the first two.
>>27911758
I do it when the price is right like their zqi 308, but I hate going there. Last time I was there this chick was yelling at her boyfriend a few feet away because he spent more on ammo than her. It was really embarrassing to even be near them.

prices are good sometimes but i usually avoid them myself. just finding someone to come and fucking unlock the goddamn thing

but i dont but guns from them at all. did that once and a horrible experience. stick to my lgs

Okay I got it bros, at the 40 minute mark. Should I complain like a fag to a manager? The old lady who finally came is my ammo-fu. She's so nice and it's the fucking managers fault for running a skeleton crew. I assume she'll take the blame.

>>27912299
I still think pistols are worth it in 22lr. There's no really good cheap practice alternative IMO.
Rifles can more easily be substituted with a pellet gun.
>>
>>27911583
Yeah, don't kek yourself.

Anon's guide to urban .22 stockpiling:
Scope out every local store that sells ammo. Yes, every one. Ask employees / associates if they know if they're getting any .22 in - they won't, but ask anyway. Put on a defeated facial expression and ask if they know what kind or brand usually comes on. For Walmart this will probably be two brick packs of M-22 and the occasional box of minimags/333/americaneagle. Dicks/BassPro/Field and Stream will mostly go after high margin golden bullet.
Set strict price controls.
<5.9cpr M-22, 333
<7.6cpr Minimags, Automatch
<3.9cpr Golden Bullet because trash isn't work either of our time
et cetera

Use ammoseek/gunbot and watch when certain ammo increases in availability. But everything under your price you can walk out with; don't buy anything over them (or golden bullet).

This is why I have four 30cal ammo cans full of .22 right now while still leaving 22 on the shelf. Hell, last week I was at Walmart for some Federal 9mm and they had four two brick packs of M-22. I was going to buy three, but an older gentleman came up before I checked out so we each bought two.

Shit's not hard. Make a plan and stick to it. Have a pic of some 147gr Lawman, because I'm not lifting those cans to my lightbox.

If you really want to shoot .22. Get an old bolt action rifle. Some .22 pellets. And some .22 blanks used in screw guns. Someone did a video on that and it worked really well. I think they saw something close to 2000fps with the hotter loads

1. Why?

2. Why would she even care?
>>
Thanks for reminding me, OP. Just bought 2,000 rounds of Aguila Super Extra at 8.5c/round.
>>
For some reason Gander mountain sells all of their .45 acp, .45 long colt, and 9mm for double the price of anywhere.

I can get a .45 white box of 100 at Walmart for $30. The same white box at Gander mountain is $60.

Then everyones pissed off cause they can't buy .22lr at Walmart cause they never have it and all the local gun stores don't have it.

Somehow magically gander mountain EVERY SINGLE TIME I go in has those boxes of 500 .22lr for $29.

It's almost like their ammo and gun prices are so shitty no one even bothers to look for .22 there. They still have a limit on 2 boxes per customer, but they have a big table in the middle of the store with just stacks of 500 and 200 boxes

I have a Ruger MK II and a Henry golden boy repeater, so I blow through .22lr pretty fast
>>
>>27912791
More like:

Facility for handling the extremely reactive rimfire priming compound

Facility for forming casings and bullets

Facility for loading the powder and bullets into the primed casings

Packaging equipment

The CCI lines in Lewiston produce a round of .22 every second, and I believe they are looking at adding more production of demand keeps up

you mean the exact same role my 22lr played? because I've got shotguns and centerfire rifles for everything else?

Current collection of .22lr ammo.

Recently picked up 2 more bulk boxes of automatch at walmart yesterday.

I don't go out of my way to buy, but I do make purchases out of boredom sometimes.

The ammo limit of the blue federal boxes (bottom right) is 10 per person here at Academy in texas.
Cost is like $2.36 per box.

I'm not proud of the Golden bullets. Wish I had more of the winchester hyper speed (1 box)...that shit is like 1400fps.
CCI 22-quiet are fun.

Also, ruger sr22 will cycle CCI standard velocity without issue. Will not cycle 22-quiet.

I've given up on .22. I'll probably pull mine out in a couple years for the nostalgic experience, but .22s never coming back. People keep saying there's more factories opening up and it's about over but it will never be.
>>
>>27916419
I think it'll come back some day. I hope it's cheap enough to be worth using again too.
But yeah, I'm at the point in my collection where I have FAR more centerfire ammo than I ever did 22lr, probably take me close to 20 trips or better to move it all to another room.
>>
Can someone pls explain to me where all the .22 ammo is.
How many years has it been since this stuff cleared off the shelf?
I've been rolling in 54r and 39 but no .22...

Why are you fags all assblasted that $15 bulk boxes of shit ammo is inflated in price when you can get semi-premium .22 all over absolutely everywhere for under 8 cents per round? CCI SV, Aguila Super Extra, Federal Match, GGG, Armscor, Wolf, Fiochi and even Eley and Norma are offering all kinds of ammo everywhere at that price. Good, clean, accurate ammo in a tray, not horrendous Remingfuck Golden Shits in a fucking bucket.

Is 8 cents per round SO stomach turning that you won't shoot anymore? So you turn to 40 cent per round .223, really?

Get '4 cents a round' out of your head and everything is fine. It's not 2002 anymore, and you don't have to pay ammo scalpers to get reasonably valued ammo.

Yes. Definitely enough where I'll gladly switch to 545, 223, 762, 308, 54r, or 12ga. I get way more fun for my dollar.
If it was closer to 10 years ago and I basically had only a 22 and shotgun only, I guess I'd put on a forced smile when I finally found 22lr and pay 8c/r just so I could shoot.
