What's /k/'s suggestion for carrying when dressed up? I'm on my way to a funeral this morning and found that all my current CC options print pretty badly or just don't work with my suit (which is pretty fitted). Any advice welcome

Dress around the gun, don't gun around the dress.
Basically, you need to have the gun in mind when you first buy the suit. Add an inch to the pants waistline, first and foremost, then carry a good compact 9mm, loaded with hollow points. You should be able to carry normally after these have been taken into account, as long as you have a good holster.

Two options:
Have your suit tailored or in sizes that work with your gun. i.e. making sure there is still room around the waist for your OWB Glock 17/1911
or
Have the suit tailored or sized to your body and then carry a gun that can still be concealed. i.e. A Shield, PPK, Bersa, Model 36, etc.
If your current options don't work strongly consider not carrying to the funeral. Unless you're bringing a lot of paperwork to the funeral for some reason off-body carry in a satchel is going to stand out very poorly.

I don't have an immediate solution for you but I've always heard that you should wear your gun when you go to have your suit tailored, a competent tailor can modify the jacket so that your gun won't print in a shoulder holster. There are also alterations that can be made for waistband carry.

There is always an option for CC in most attires, depending on the size of the firearm in question. A Ruger LCP or Sig P238 in the pocket will work fine, the LCP and bodyguard more because they don't weigh as much and won't flop around but a proper pocket holster will prevent this.
A shoulder holster works well for suites unless you're trying to CC a full size gun, than it might show a bit. You can always CC in an ankle holster as well.
Do keep in mind when it comes to CCing.

Ankle or pocket/wallet holster are the only way to go for deep concealment, unless you want to try crotch carry (strapped to inner thigh)
Even if you love your 9 you should have a small 380 for all those times you simply can't conceal a 9, or if it's just inconvenient to, say like getting the mail. Throwing a baby gun in a pocket holster in your sweats pocket is easier than putting on a belt and strapping it to you. You can also carry in the gym in cargo shorts. I'd recommend the s&w bodyguard, its a solid little fucker.
