Driving though the midwest a few years ago flipping through radio stations I suddenly hear Fruity Rudy. He's being interviewed about GK and plugging his exercise book. The funny thing is the (NPR?) chick doing the interview is literally flirting with him on air, her voice quivering at times, remarking on his physique and joking about what close proximity they are to each other sitting in the small studio. Rudy just laughs it off, but she was obviously moist. It was like an IRL enactment of the Swheddy Balls SNL sketch.

Not him, but if you're referring to Ray's breakdown, the reason I think it's such a good part is because in a group of Marines who all kept their calm fairly well, hidden underneath in everyone there can hide this reservoir of tension and anxiety that even after everything is said and done, the smallest trigger can send someone reeling. Especially for me, you can tell at that part that Ray was probably a scrawny loser that got picked on before he joined up, which sticks out and identifies with me since I went through a lot of bullying growing up too.
