noobtard question: Im looking to get a red dot/reflex sight for my AR that has a flat top receiver and F-marked A2 front sight. What height does the red dot need for absolute cowitness? what about 1/3? how do I know what riser I need to get, if any? is the type of cowitness only determined by the physical height of the sight or can it be adjusted via the sight? If i want to switch, say from absolute to 1/3, can I just adjust the sight's settings or do i have the physically change the sight's height via adding/removing a a riser?

This confused me as well. They were constantly switching out handguards on their rifles which was beyond comprehension. I think they eventually just put a sign on their website saying that they'll put on whatever handguard you ask for.
I think the only product of theirs that I ever saw being sold were their forged receiver sets on Weapon Outfitters and they got really good reviews, but WO only ever got a single shipment of them. Oh well, guess that's what happens when you gamble with people's money.

So I'm trying to replace my pistol grip, but I can't for the life of me get the screw in my pistol grip off, or even loosen it, and I think I'm slowly starting to strip it with my attempts. Any ideas?
My last ditch effort would be to cut the grip off and try to use a power drill or a vice to get the damn thing off, but I'm hoping to avoid that.

I've always understood it as, the closer you could get your sight picture to center of bore. the closer the reticle will be to bullet impact over a greater range of distances. (I'm not sure if that was why but I know I read it in a precision shootin' book) and always tried to do so in my rifles.

I agree that it should've had a hole for the detent so that the crush washer isn't necessary, but I've never heard anyone complain about that before. Hell, AKOU even said that the crush washer worked well even thought it was stupid.
AKOU also said that it compensated really well (Polenar said it was good as well if I remember correctly). Did he have the donkey dick beforehand? I mean, you're really only going to get so much compensation out of a gun, and if you've already got a good sturdy pistol grip on it you should have a whole hell of a lot more control and will likely not see as much of a difference when you start using a muzzle brake.
