What's /k/s opinion on our coast guard? I don't see them spoken of a lot, anyone served in it?

I think the coast guard were only allowed to apply/go to buds for a short time forever ago but are no longer able to.

Mostly rode around in boats patrolling. We were down south most o f the time so wed go out and make sure spics dont come in and dont drown on their way in.
One time I rescued a 12 year old girl who fell off a boat and git taken out by a wave.

Like the other anon said, that program is long gone. But there were at least a few coast guard guys that graduated BUD/S. From what I understand they essentially transferred to the Navy for their time as a SEAL, it's not like they went through training and then went back to the CG to do SEAL stuff.
