>Neowiz Games and Rocky Studio announced DJMax Respect for PlayStation 4 during a PlayStation Developer Conference in South Korea today.
>The rhythm game, due out in South Korea in January 2017, is an “all-in-one” game featuring the songs of DJMax Portable and DJMax Portable 2, a local two-player mode, an online mode, arcade mode, mission mode, and gallery mode. Songs from DJMax Portable Clazziquai Edition, DJMax Portable Black Square, DJMax Portable 3, DJMax Technika, and DJMax Technika 3 are also planned as downloadable content.

Fuck you guys,
Any place to download some IIDX soundtracks besides sows?
I can easily find links for the newer games but I want stuff from older styles.
>>15211747
literally google, you should find this chink list of downloads for pretty much every rhythm game related soundtrack in existence
>>15211829
Yeah, found some chinese links literally after posting.
>resort anthem was half a decade ago
Where does the time go lads?
Is there any iidx sim that tries computing a chart from a music track you choose, like audiosurf or stepmania does?
>>15212739
No because bms are keysounded
>>15212739
All autogen charts in any game are automatically garbage.
>>15212739
Autogen keysounds are impossible.
Also Audiosurf isn't rhythmically interesting and autogenerated stepmania charts are fucking garbage.
>>15212794
>Autogen keysounds are impossible.
Assuming you only hit one note at a time, each keysound could just be a naive chunk of the music. It would probably be really bad and uninteresting, but it's something.
>>15212813
>It would probably be really bad and uninteresting
So why the fuck would you play it?
>>15212739
Audiosurf is merely a music visualizer.
Nothing more than that.
>>15212813
Even charted songs that aren't keysounded feel really weird and aren't as fun to play

human fc when
Just got my DIY Pop'n controller working yesterday.
How long until I'm good? Already getting mediocre scores on low 30s on Hyper.
>>15214279
it depends on how much you play really
I know one guy who got to 48s in like 6 months
but I started at the beginning of the year and I'm at ~39 or so.
Just a heads up: chart ratings at 38-40 are total bullshit and are really inconsistent.
>>15214295
Do you play AC data or console? What sort of scores do you get on average?
I consider it a good run if I break 80k.
>>15212926
This is a meme, I took a break for a month and came back WAY worse.
>>15214451
That's a long break. 2 or 3 days off are okay. A week too
>>15213295
Is that even possible to beat? Konami lost their fucking mind.
>>15214387
I play on AC data, I can usually score from 80-86k on charts that I'm comfortable with, if I'm playing something thats not exactly in my comfort zone (as in my ability to clear will fluctuate) than I'll usually get from like 75-79k on it.
>>15214451
Then don't take a break for a month.
Day or two is fine.
Hi I became a normalfag since I stopped playing Rhythm games, and recently found some time and wanted to get back to playing. Aside from games like ITG and PIU, I really enjoy games like o2jam. I have never played Popn aside from in Japan, same with beatmania. Is there a way to get a controller for popn or beatmania to run on my pc? Is it cheap? What is the game in the OP picture? How do I play that?
I remember I was at a convention once, and there was a rhythm game on an ipad that looked like the game in the OP, what is that called?
>>15214756
The game in the OP is called Jubeat. You can get controllers for this stuff in a few different places but the most common is probably gamo2 (though their en website has been down for a bit I think).
>>15214756
gamo2.com + lr2/ac data
game in op is jubeat
>that moment you realize Rock Band is actually harder than IIDX
Look at this. It's the hardest song in Rock Band 4, and it looks absolutely insane.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp6Q4iGqjIM
Not to mention playing it in Breakneck Speed mode, where the notes go so fast you can barely see them. As the guys at IGN say, "this mode is only for the hardest of the hardcore".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOBIQ9WPrEM
Can Japanese rhythm games even compete?
>>15215007
o shi i could hardly see those notes go by, 3fast5me
>>15210014
I don't understand the maneuver he just pulled.
Don't you have to physically press the square as the notes come up? It looks like he just magic'd his hand over the whole thing and called it a day. Is this game touch screen based or are those buttons? I know the Dao controller is like transparent buttons.
Who even knows.
>>15215135
Jubeat's timing windows are wider than Pump's (lol) and the buttons aren't the clicky kind. You can just kind of brush your hand over the pattern quickly and it works out most times.
How are people getting their hands on prop anyway?
Can't seem to find anything about it from the animal farm. (unless its on some obscure chinese website or something similar)
>>15215007
>6mn and half
So much stamina *yawn* how do they do it?
>>15215155
So is the dao a faithful recreation of the arcade experience or not?
Shit's like 500 bucks to get into including the monitor you need. I'm not dropping that kinda cash if it's not arcade accurate.
>>15215532
I have the dao & monitor and get scores on my setup similar to those I get on a cab. If you're asking if the ASC feels like the cab, then yeah, it's an ASC so of course it does. The dao buttons just feel a little lighter imo.
>>15215007
>That 2.5x speed
HOLY FUUUUCK!
>>15215532
Where do you even ge the monitor? I don't see it for sale together with the buttons.
>>15216448
Even at 2.5x it's not particularly dense or difficult. The only difficulty comes from the fact that there's no proper speed mod, so he's reading at a GN of like 230.
If the notes slowed down but he was still running at 2.5x it's be relatively trivial.
>>15215135
He probably hit a bunch of the other buttons too when he palmed it. I think he 'gets away with it' here because there's no other notes appearing in the bottom left area.
>>15216517

It's still by far the biggest challenge in the music game world. At least until jap games stop being casual like this

Wow take a look at this, it's so dense, so difficult, i can't even read a thing. Mendes black another and overjoy charts are baby tier compared to this
>>15218479
Even the drummer doesn't want to be there.
>>15217989
I just bought the refurbished version of the BENQ for ~$140, it's perfect for what you need it for imo
Is there a reason for Mendes Black Another for being what it is? Was it decided it's supposed to be the most retarded thing in IIDX or was it something that simply happened?
Will they ever try to top it off?
Can someone transcribe/source all the vocal samples in Dynamite?
>>15218944
yes
>>15218564
Can you tell me whether or not these lines would be an issue with the DB9? If they're going top be covered up, I wouldn't care about a slightly fucked monitor.
is there an online alternative today for O2Jam? I kind of miss the competitive rhythm game itch
>>15218759
Mendes Black Another is the second silliest thing in IIDX after Gambol another and nothing like it has been seen since 2009, so probably not.

>>15220865
Did PSUN allow europeans andsouth americanswhen it was running? If not, fair enough. If you did, europeans are fags.
>>15220865
"PW v2" does not distribute N-0 data.
Europe does not have Round1 and D&B.
European laws grey area this kind of thing.
>>15220862
Yes, arduino, or an arcin, or one of those zero-delay boards you find on ebay.
>>15220888
You could join PSUN if your country didn't have official e-amuse service.
So yes, this includes Yurop.
Technically they're kind of justified in excluding the US, as Round1 is (technically) official e-amuse service in the US, although it's actually just a VPN back to Osaka.
Is it worth getting into Keyboardmania? I like the idea of a rhythm game where you play with a real instrument, but the series being dead makes it seem like I'd only be heartbroken if I end up liking it.
Are there similar games out there?

Konami probably thinks we're a jungle wasteland. They'll never set up their stuff here. I also have dual citizenship so I'm technically european too. I think I might try to force my way in on this.
>>15220915
There's synthesia I guess
>>15220924
There's like one D&B in the entirety of the US with NeonFM, it's not exactly a widespread game.
>>15220924
Except many D&B stores will be getting DDR A on official, non-R1 forced e-amuse.
>>15220925
>would they allow south americans to join the fun then?
No, see >>15220902
>I think I might try to force my way in on this.
Good luck, the owner is fairly strict on entry requirements. Their patcher only works with games you have dongles for unless you're ex-PW.

Is it worth owning your own ddr machine/ itg cab or is a pad and stepmania combo just fine?
Anyone here own their own machine that give some insight to this purchase. I'm thinking whether to just buy a machine or just find one of those rare dance pads that'll cost $400 to get....
Owning a machine seems like a good choice but converting a ddr machine to use stepmania seems expensive as well
>>15222029
you can find a ddr machine for the same price as a secondhand blueshark or cobalt flux.
if you're cheap, you can just hook the pad up to an ipac and it'll work fine with a pc.
if you want lights to work, you'll need a minimaid which is considerably more expensive.
Since we're talking about DDR machines, can you adjust their sensitivity or something? I see japs barely touching the arrows and the game registers but at my arcade you have to really force it, making high level play suicide.
Don't know if it's a shitty machine or the guys in charge are just assholes.
Or I'm just bad at the game and don't know how to properly step on them.
>>15222078
>shitty machine
>bad at the game
Probably one of these desu
>>15222029
You could get a pad off precisiondancepads.com, but I'm not sure about getting a good bar.
Their pads are also *easier* to trigger than at the arcade, making bracketing a bit too easy to do.
> Just draw cindy fan art and get an invite!

Am I the only one that has a really hard time hitting stairs accurately? I can do it easily with random on (and in 4~6k), but I can't do it normally.

>>15223833

>>15223849
How long have you been playing?
You guys like IIDX for the music or gameplay?
I started because of the chalenge but the games eased me into electronic music, which is basically like typical videogame music which was all I would hear but socially aceptable for some reason.
Weird how not being a very musical guy made it so easy for me to be eclectic.
>>15224101
I started rhythm games because some of the doujin artists I listen to got their songs into IIDX/SDVX, so I started playing.
I've come to enjoy the gameplay, probably because I used to play piano and I just like tapping on stuff/drumming my fingers when I'm bored anyway.

"12 GOBBLE DPH
The chart is unchanged from its first appearance in CS 4th. The note placement is so utterly void of logic that some people think it was charted with the idea that DP was meant for 2 players. At 917 notes, it falls a bit short of 1000, but still secures a spot as a high tier 12. For hard clearing, the impossible scratches in some places put it alongside quasar as one of the absolute hardest 12s, with some placing it even higher."

American devs just keep lowering the skill level with each game and the worst part is no one complaining.
IIDX works for extreme casuals who'll enjoy level 3 songs and hardcore autists playing crazy shit.
I don't know why americans aren't pandering to both sides.

>>15232509
American rhythm games aren't following the arcade model. They are trying to sell as many units as they can, so games like Rock Band are made easy to appeal to the casual demographic. Japanese rhythm games (at least the arcade ones) want you to continually spend money, so they purposefully have a higher skill ceiling to get you to keep playing.
So, I just downloaded AndJuist instead of jubeat for android, because the apk doesn't work in my tablet and I don't have a sows account.
Is this a mistake? Is AndJuist bad or something?

You're right. Can't believe the arcade model is the better one in the end considering it's also the model full of bullshit stuff to eat your quarters;
So can we all agree level 11 is the most bullshit level in IIDX?
>Many charts are super easy, just barely harder than a 10 until the super dense, all of a sudden hard stream at the end or middle
Want to practice that part? Haha, play the entire easy song again!
At least level 12s are mostly consistently hard from the start.
Can someone give me a Pendual training regimen and/or the speed numbers they use? I'm hovering around 8-9 but can't clear 9s consistently
>>15233510
>training regimen
Just power through. Keep playing 9s until you start beating them. It's not endgame high level stuff so you don't really need an elaborate strategy. Don't think too much about it.
Use http://statistik.benhgreen.com/ratings?difficulty=9
To see the harder and easier level 9s
>Speed numbers
Just play at a speed you're comfortable with. I'd recommend going faster and faster with time to improve your reaction and reflexes and because endgame stuff at low speeds look like a nightmare with notes cluttered together.
Is speed/bpm just a preference in SDVX? I'm getting to the hard 14s/early 15s and I'm getting destroyed, thought speeding it up from 450 bpm would help but I can't tell if I'm just not used to it or it's something else.
Recommended bpm if that's not the case?
>>15234474
450's pretty slow for 15s. It's preference for the most part but reading is significantly easier at higher multipliers. I personally use 900-950 but something like 600-800 should be fine as well.

I would legitimately fail a song that was nothing but vol with 0%. Just starting to break into 14s after a few weeks. God I hope it gets better.
I have a sinking feeling my brain is simply not capable of doing what's necessary to become good.
I just got into StepMania like a week ago. Using Moonlight theme and Delta note skins based off some streamer's recommendations.
For songs I've been playing Otaku's Dream pad packs (mostly anime OPs/EDs with a few other things thrown in). I can play just about all the songs fine on Medium, with a handful doable on Hard and I found one I could beat on Expert. I played the game when I was really little, but it's definitely easier when using letters instead of arrow keys. I've been using sf jl and stretching my fingers over the one key gap. This felt the best to me.
I told this streamer guy I was getting pretty good at what I had already and then he recommended me Sharpnelstream. I put it into the game and even on Medium all the tracks had difficulties of 10 or higher and step counts over 1000. What I wanna know is, was I memed into trying impossible shit, or was I just an unaware casual to start with? Also looking for general recommendations for StepMania songpacks, tips, etc. How long will it take me to git gud? I can play Expert Guitar and Bass in the Guitar Hero / Rock Band games. Kind of garbage at Taiko. That's most of the rhythm games I've played.
Beat Galgalim which according to statistics is a 11.6 song.
Is that the smell of progress I'm feeling? getting near the end of the 11 wall, bitches!
>>15234474
Some people play as slow as 600, some go up to 1000.

>>15236174
i dont you were exactly "memed", i don't think the guy who recommended you that file knew what skill level you were at. sharpnel streamz is a pretty popular hard pad pack, everything in their was made for players who've been playing on pad for years. if you're just starting off, it will take a while before you're able to play any of the stuff in there.
I'm not sure what your playstyle is like, are you like using your index fingers and just moving them from s f j l? that's a weird playstyle and it'll probably stop you from playing actually harder stuff. there are 2 types of playstyles that people play on keyboard, index (using your index fingers on the arrow keys) which people play pad packs with, and spread (which is usually using index+middle fingers on both hands on keys like SDKL for left-down-up-right)
index style: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCZeI5XXG7Q
spread: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khsqwRImSTU
here's a link that should help you for finding packs to play

So apparently, you can adjust the timing on IIDX. After a little fiddling, Pendual is extremely playable. In fact, it feels like arcade IIDX is actually a little more forgiving than LR2 in terms of groove gauge. It's revived my love of the game.
Also, as a side note. I find the ambiance of Pendual unsettling. That woman announcer that coldly tells me what to do in an omniscient, echoing voice. It feels like some form of future containment facility. Definitely some Logan's Run type of vibes.

-0.3. The notes go to the music now which is cool. Actually makes it a rhythm game.
During my experimenting, I went all the way from -0.8 to +0.8. I'd do better on one song and worse on another. Was starting to think it was all in my head.
>>15239128
>-0.3. The notes go to the music now which is cool. Actually makes it a rhythm game.
The offset does not change the audio at all. It only affects the position of the notes relative to the red line. Negative makes the notes appear earlier/lower (meaning you have to hit the notes later relative to the visuals), and positive makes the notes appear later/higher (you have to hit the notes earlier relative to the visuals).
>Was starting to think it was all in my head.
It probably was, especially since you think it affected the audio. -0.3 is a pretty small change equivalent to a 5 millisecond offset from the default, and the default is technically something like -4.0 or something since the game already has a bunch of built in latency mitigation. -0.3 is unlikely to affect you much unless you're the kind of player that regularly gets over 95% on things.
Does anyone have jhlee stepmania noteskin? Or can remake it?
>>15239197
If you have to hit a note later to get the same judgement, that would still affect how you time it relative to the music.
Before I made the adjustment, I had to hit the key right around where the note passed the judgement words to get a P.Great. Now I hit them when they cross the line.
It's definitely better.
>>15239309
>If you have to hit a note later to get the same judgement, that would still affect how you time it relative to the music.
It's only relative to the visuals. The judgement windows relative to the audio never change.
>Before I made the adjustment, I had to hit the key right around where the note passed the judgement words to get a P.Great. Now I hit them when they cross the line.
-0.3 is a sub-frame difference. I doubt you play with a scroll rate such that the notes are visible for 3 frames total. At least you're talking about visuals now, though.
>It's definitely better.
I'm glad you're enjoying the game.
>>15239319
>The judgement windows relative to the audio never change.
Unless you make a change to your system that increases or decreases the amount of audio latency. Obviously you can't have audio that plays early, though, since that would mean the game is predicting your inputs.

Literally only 12 people have snatched that. This isn't a busy tracker esp. with stuff like this, just be patient.
>>15239197
I have a follow up question. How do you know that -0.3 is equivalent to 5ms? I didn't really know what units were involved with that adjustment but I'm guessing it's frames. So .3 of 16.67 would be around 5.
But this seems silly as it's impossible to move something earlier or later by fractions of a frame.
I'm just incredulous that Bemani would include a literally useless adjustment in their game. Not calling you a liar or misinformed or anything.
>>15241282
You're correct that the adjustment is in number of frames. It accomplishes sub-frame changes by moving the notes up or down a fraction of the distance a note moves in one frame for any given scroll rate. Since this is only a visual change, the internal judgement remains locked to integer frames. It's not 5ms in any real sense, but it's 5ms with how the player interprets the visuals.
There is a noticeable difference that I can feel with 0.5 increments, so it's not entirely useless. I only do adjustments smaller than that if I am really convinced that my ideal offset is somewhere between two 0.5 increments. I sometimes see people wiggling around with 0.1 increments between songs and I'm entirely convinced that it's just placebo at that level, especially since those players tend to not be very good anyway.

I'm new to sows (900 mb down)so take this advice lightly (since its probably shit, also wtf is EDL)
Besides making sure that deluge is optimized for uploading shit, it's pretty much hit or miss if you get any upload at all, since every dl has a risk that no one will take it.
What I'm doing is just idling in the irc and waiting for someone to upload something. When something us uploaded, I check if the album/whatever is something that has a chance of being popular. I think there is like a 3 minute wait period where no one can download or upload,I may be wrong in this.
If you haven't done so yet, go check out the free leech and see if you can get any upload from there, don't expect much since there is normally like 100+ people for each torrent, but if you do, then you'll know it's not the program but rather your internet (or maybe someone just hates you and snatches everything that you snatch)
Also don't go for lossless albums (a big mistake that I made)since you rarely will make profit from it because more people tend go for mp3 320. (As far as I've noticed)
I'm assuming you are new as well so I just want to say take it slow, sure you might get power user before the end of the month, but you'll be taking a lot of risks to rush your total upload. Tbqh, every new torrent that comes out holds a risk that you will not get much upload from it.
I'm confused of what the cluster fuck that is ratio management, but I am enjoying every moment of it especially when the torrent you got manages to get past 1.0 ratio.

IIDX (Pendual) :3
Pop'n SD (Lapistoria)
Jubeat Prop
DDR 2013 (upgraded JP SN2 cab),

Do any of you guys have any experience with actually playing IIDX in public in Japan?
I kind of imagine it would be one of two scenarios. Either the native players would be really nice and friendly, merrily bonding with you over your common love for IIDX, or they would all be massive, exclusionary dicks that go out of their way to make you feel not welcome. Fucking you over and stealing your turns at the machine.
I've seen both cases here many times so either one seems quite plausible.
>>15243480
It depends on the crowd. IIDX is an easy game to act elitist since the skill ceilling is so retardedly high.
I'll assume most of the time you'll see an asshole crowd that either laughs at you or ignores you for not being able to AAA 12s
>>15243480
I did, people just waited politely for their turn if they had to and didn't really talk to others. I fucking sucked because I'm not used to playing standing up, got fucked up by the arcade delay and wasn't used to the sanwa buttons. But one time I I still chose expert mode to get the most songs with my 100yen but I failed a 9 for my first song and had to walk away, the japanese guy waiting for his turn behind me looked at me with a surprised look because he didn't understand why I came and left so quickly, I felt pretty bad.

i stayed there for two months last fall and went to a nearby round1 at least once per week
no one gave a shit
there were salarymen, schoolgirls, 5th kyus and kaidens
the one thing they all had in common is that no one talked to anyone who they didn't already know
people played quietly, then got off the machine and waited in line quietly and that was it
the only time anyone ever paid any sort of attention to me was when one guy asked if a drink left on the dm cab was mine
though when i went to the eclale loctest and gave up my #28 ticket because i was still waiting four hours later, the random girl i gave it to thanked me profusely

And why would you care if they were? I mean, anyone who's playing IIDX is already a loser. If they're going to be dicks, then be a dick back.
Consider that the majority of charts for the game are either level 6 or level 10. Clearly, not everyone's AAAing level 12 songs.

Depends on your laser sensitivity. I had trouble with the recommended value but I increased it and I haven't had any problems since.
DP is a fun and silly land of level 10 normals, songs rated 3 levels below what they should be, hypers higher than their anothers, and 0% clear rate songs.
>>15249895
What DP songs have never been cleared?
>>15249908
I doubt there's a song that's never been cleared on official eamuse, he's probably talking about the scores on his, uhh, home network.
Our clear rates are lower across the board.
>>15249895
>>15250012
I see.
But what are the most retarded DP songs? It's the part of the game I won't play for a long time so I know nothing about it.
>>15250026
see >>15224614
>The chart is unchanged from its first appearance in CS 4th.

Is there a way I can get a feel for jubeat before I sink a shitload of money on an ASC?
Like playing with a numpad or something?
>>15252274
play it on a tablet
>>15252274
Play with the ipad version, if you don't have it buy it, a 1000 tablet is cheaper than a 2,500 cabinet
>>15252309
I meant the 350 dollar DB9 from Dao and a 27 inch monitor. Bot a whole cab.
Also I don't have any form of tablet, but I do have the AC data for jubeat.
>>15252274
You can play it on a numpad, but it's a stupid idea and at that point you're not even playing Jubeat anymore.
Play it on an iPad or a decent android tablet to get a feel for it.
Last time I checked, we don't have Surface support for it.
>>15252362
There's really no good way to do this if you don't have access to a cab or a tablet. Go to a convention or find someone that owns an ipad I guess.
>>15252610
>>15252464
Any reasonably priced chink tablets that will run it? Hopefully less than 75ish dollars.
I looked up the app and a lot of people complain that it won't run on their cheap ass tablet.
If I play sitting down with my asc at home will it be hard to play at the same level while standing up on a cabinet?
I don't think i've ever seen anyone sit on a barstool or anything wihile playing 2dix at the arcade
>>15252841
Set your home setup as close to AC as possible.
where can i get stepmania songs

>I remember playing stepmania using 4 finger spread against people who played index and I'd always pick the most fucked up songs because I couldn't keep up with their accuracy and stamina otherwise
Does this mean you're playing with one hand or that you have duplicate bindings?
I use s f j l, but before I settled into that I had thought of using hjkl since I've used vim so much. It definitely seems easier with two hands now, though.
>>15237901
>I'm not sure what your playstyle is like, are you like using your index fingers and just moving them from s f j l? that's a weird playstyle and it'll probably stop you from playing actually harder stuff.
index on the two marked line keys of home row with middle finger stretched one away
so there's a gap between my fingers

wtf is AC or ASC
>>15253727
arcade / arcade style controller
>>15253727
ASC / AC means the same thing when talking about home controllers.
If this is not about controllers, AC means arcade cab and ASC means "Arcade Style" controller, a home controller that has the same spacing as the original arcade

Yeah, but I don't have a controller and only one mouse, so no dual-mousing for this.
Also my laptop has at least 3 cables coming out of either side, so I can't really turn it over.
I could run it in windowed mode and use size to scale it down, but eyestrain is not the most fun thing in the world.

taobao is basically ebay anyway, it's not that hard
So does anyone actually like EZ2DJ? I have no idea why anyone would bother to play that when you can just stick with IIDX.
>>15250026
Pretty much anything rated 11/12 from 9 style and earlier is cancer incarnate, and the further back you go the worse it gets. Sweet Lab 14K is one of the most retarded charts in any music game ever.

And yes. Korea vsrg > Japan vsrg
How to get gud at chords in pop'n? I'm finally to the point where I can do a lot of 29s, so long as they don't have a lot of chords. Meanwhile, pretty much every 30 tends to throw them at you en masse. Even the Linked Horizon song on Hyper is too intense to be good practice, despite the relatively simple chords.
Any suggestions on how to build up muscle memory for them?
>>15258225
You'll pick it up eventually. And it'll be associated by color. Your brain will be wired to see a White + Green + Blue and know what to do.
I also think I subconsciously break them up by lanes. So a Yellow + Blue + Green + Red I'll just one hand the Yellow + Blue with my left and Green + Red with my right.
It's not so bad. I've only been playing with a controller for a couple weeks and I've passed my 3rd 40 just today.
The real hard shit in Pop'n is left to right and back staircase streams. I still panic on those.
>>15258182
Korea vsrg wouldn't exist without konami (just like every other korean game), so why play inferior copies?
>>15258433
>So a Yellow + Blue + Green + Red I'll just one hand the Yellow + Blue with my left and Green + Red with my right.
I just realized this is fucking retarded because there's literally no other way to do this chord.
Still, practice.
Is StepMania worth my time to git gud at? It's kind of the only rhythm game I play at the moment. I am hearing of many others like IIDX here, but I am scared to look them up becauseI use GNU/Linux and they might not work on my platform. StepMania is free software so it is of course supported.
>>15258494
If you play IIDX, you'll automatically get good at Stepmania, and you'll end up strengthening all your fingers as opposed to four.
>>15258494
There's a Japanese IIDX/Pop'n simulator called Lunatic Rave 2 that should work on Linux. If you get good at Stepmania, be warned that everyone playing games with more than 4 buttons will laugh at you.
>>15257409
I always thought Eurodance fell under the EDM umbrella.
>>15258551
>There's a Japanese IIDX/Pop'n simulator called Lunatic Rave 2 that should work on Linux.
Sweet. Thank you. The other guy who replied ignored the spoiler text I think.
>If you get good at Stepmania, be warned that everyone playing games with more than 4 buttons will laugh at you.
I understand. That's fine. I'm a really fast typist (149wpm top speed) so I feel like I should be able to git gud at rhythm games eventually. Other games than StepMania using more fingers would probably even benefit me once I got used to it.
>>15258588
Games with more than 4 buttons are just more fun in general.
The things Stepmania does to become more challenging are simply retarded.
>I'm spinning the screen whooooooo
>random explosions and stuff on the screen to distract you!
Just play LR2. It'll probably work on Linux and it has a lot more variety.
>>15258838
What are you talking about?
Stepmania is hard because it has unrivaled density and speed than any other rhythm game. Streams of 16th jumps/hands at 300 BPM is fucking ridiculous. Just because it only has four buttons doesn't mean it's not respectable.
Reminder that DJH crippled the releases because certain people are leaking pieces of shit.
