News:
-Spring 2016 Event has started and will end on May 30. It is a 7 map event split into 3 parts: Initial, Expansion and Final Operations.
-Land based planes not doing their correct damage and enemy raids not happening has been fixed.
-Players who reached E-6 before the emergency patch will get an exclusive apology furniture and an early event reward for their troubles.
-Kamikaze class DDs Kamikaze and Harukaze, Oyashio, Pola and Iowa are available in this event.
-New equipment such as the Catalina, Bofors Quad Autocannon and interceptor fighters can be earned this event.
-Land-based aircraft and their famed pilots have been added. They can be used with the new land-based aerial support mechanic, which can also accommodate naval aircraft. Land-based air squadrons will be able to aid your fleet at up to 2 specific nodes.
-The first part consists of 4 maps. E3 rewards Kamikaze, along with the ability to use the new aerial support mechanic.
-The second part consists of 1 map, rewards Pola, and is optional.
-The third part consists of 2 maps. The last map will reward Iowa.
-The max slot counts have been increased to 290/1260 for ships/equipment respectively.
-An Asashio class DD will get her Kai 2 this spring.
-Android lottery results are out, the 250k winners must wait until the end of the event to gain access.

Those videos of them shredding through the E7 boss are awe-inspiring, but mine don't do anywhere near that damage.
I'm slowly building their chevrons up, seeing if that helps at all. Maybe the trick is to combine them with other plane types so that each squadron has a mix or something.

Thank based green T, Kumano managed to single-handedly wreck two imps. Looks like both supports are almost mandatory, time to sparkle.
With this Yuu removal Tanaka seems force us too use tank and daihatsu as a replacement, but tank and super daihatsu bonus damage seems weaker compared too WG and only equipable by some ship.

You can powergrind Ooshio to 65 in a day or two at 5-4 and rotate CVLs/FBBs to avoid fatigue and buckets. However, I didn't notice much of a difference on the pillboxes as my CAV and AV did most of the damage each time.

There are 4 maps (E2, E5, E6, E7) which have installation bosses. Assuming that ships from E5 can be used in E7, E7 need no prior planning. (But if E5 ships does indeed locked out of E7 there will be more things to consider). Which map is so hard that without those special DDs (I have 3 WGs, but I am not including them into the consideration yet) it deserves a priority on putting my snowflake DDs in?

Well, my main problem with Haguro and Choukai is that they don't target a boss in yasen even once, so I really don't know how much they're capable of (but sure I can imagine it). I just hope they hold themself for last kill, so I cannot blame them.

I just cleared it without any tanks.
All I had were one WG, two regular daihatsu, one super daihatsu from clearing E-1, and Mogami and Suzuya with a sanshiki each. Equipment setups were really poorly optimized too because my only DD daihatsu carrier is Bep. Bep tended to miss a lot of her hits entirely so Suzuya, Mogami and ABKM with a daihatsu were doing most of the legwork.
I also got Kashima twice there while clearing so looks like devs haven't fixed the shitty drops yet.
