Tell me about rural Japan, /jp/
>>
Everyone is at least 60 and there may or may not be high-speed internet.

Hope you like farming.
>>
ITS BORING

Little miss autism's legs make no sense in this image.
>>
>>15155258
Sounds great.
Time to farm those 70 points.

it's like rural america except with japanese people
>>
>>15155258
Man, I wish every country was as tiny as Japan so we could all have great internet. Apparently it's fiber everywhere so they get up to 1gbp/s for real cheap.

Imagine reaching internet velocity nirvana. It's Japan.
>>
>>15155416
It can't possibly be that bad.
>>
>>15155504
rural america is the greatest place to live if you're not brown
>>
It's romanticized just like everything else related to Japan.
>>
>>15155572
You've clearly never been to a truly rural part of America, then. 1GB data cap on slow satellite internet, no proper grocery store for 50 miles around, nothing but rotting cabins and fields/mountain.
>>
>>15155180
You don't want to live in rural Japan or rural anywhere. Enjoy having nothing to do and a big lack of modern conveniences you'll find in the city.
>>
>>15155945
>Enjoy having nothing to do
All my hobbies are on my computer or can be fed through online ordering. I don't see why this would be an issue for anyone on /jp/. It's not like we go outside much anyways.
>>
>>15156224
Yeah, I like living away from the city
I have a large, forested backyard I can wander in when I get tired of staying inside for too long.

I get to be alone with nature, unlike in the city where you are surrounded by people on your walks
>>
>>15155180
Probably full of places that still use squat toilets, so completely unlivable for any civilized person.
>>
Higurashi, Fatal Frame, and Forbidden Siren have all made me afraid of it.

Good thing everyone here pisses in bottles and shits on the floor then.
>>
>>15155752
I grew up backwoods Alabama. Yes the internet sucks. the rotting cabins are cool, and fuck proper grocery stores.
>>
>>15155180
I've been told it is packed with great scenery and racist people.
>>
>>15158152
>racist people
More like ignorant or naive people.
>>
No one can speak English.
>>
It's a nice place to visit but I would never want to live there. You get stared at a lot if you're a foreigner. Some people don't care, but it makes me pretty self conscious. The houses are rustic and beautiful.
All in all, the nature is obviously really nice, but the people aren't that great and it's inconvinient.
>>
>>15158152
The word you're looking for is xenophobes. I find it funny how people throw these words around without knowing what they mean.
>>
>>15158813
I dunno, I think it's lovely, but I prefer the pace of life that you find in the country. The people I've met are wonderful, too.
>>
>>15158813
You're spoiled and don't know how life outside of cities works. People that live in rural areas tend to be very nice but they stick to their own, namely the ones in the area. That doesn't mean that they aren't great, it just means that your invading ass isn't on their list of top priorities and that they'd rather tend to their own.
I absolutely hate how the modern life in cities has made everyone almost hippie like in behavior when it comes to social interactions. You can't expect a small community in which people trust and know each other to just roll over when you wander into their area.
>>
>>15158873
I grew up in the country. I moved to a
Japanese city after I reached adulthood.
Try a little bit harder to make it seem like you know
what you're talking about.
>>
>>15158969
But I do. This just means that you have a problem with people in the country side in general. Or perhaps you grew up in a really awful place.
>>
>>15155287
There's a hole in the floor where you put your legs.
But even with that the picture is fucked.

What? I live in my shitty corrupted 3rd world country and I get 3MB/s up and 13MB/s down. Where do you live anon?

The worst part is that I live in the county seat. My cell phone has better ping and speeds than my mainline, though the latter is obviously capped.

I haven't even been able to play Planetside 2. At all.

Back when Sugita still lived with his parents in the mountains of Saitama, he got a phone called from his operator who asked why they are still using ISDN. "You tell me" he said, and apparently it was one of the very few places in Japan where the level of wireless signal noise is several times bigger than rest of the country. Then he asked if they could set up a fiber and the operator went "If the whole are makes a petition, it might happen (笑)".
>>
>>15160163
That's the ping i got gaming on a 28.8k back in the day, stop being a little baby and frag some noobs

Don't remind me of those dark times, anon.
I played Ultima Online and on my shard there were a few untouchables with broadband. I could defend myself and stay alive against them but player position was held server-side (client-side is ubiquitous today) which meant they could send faster movement commands and I could never finish them off.
Damn kids don't know how good they have it these days.
>>
It has bus stops. And little girls wearing a straw hat and white summer dress, frolicking around in sunflower fields.
>>
>>15155180
it's like urban japan, but more rural.

Yeah, until you get termites
>>
>>15160163

Huh, that's pretty comparable to what I get here in suburban Sydney, Australia (3.8MB/s down, 0.70 MB/s up).
>>
>>15167505

No it doesn't.

That's what you see in Animes, dude.
>>
>>15170517
Yes it does. I lived there for several years.
>>
For those who have lived there, precisely where did you live?
