it's definitely something no one can comprehend unless they're immortal themselves. Even the people the immortals are friends with like Tewi, Reisen, and Keine, are just going to die someday and leave Kaguya, Eirin, and Mokou alone. I imagine eventually you just have to stop caring about other people since you're comparing a finite lifespan to an infinite one, especially in the cases of being humans. Mokou out of the three probably has the rawest deal too since she was just a normal human. Seems incredibly lonely. It'd only be bearable to be an immortal in Gensokyo where all this magic shit happens, other immortals exist, and characters like the Scarlet sisters are going to live for millennia. So no one would really care if you're eternally young, unlike the real world where you'd probably be sought out and put on the news or tested. But even then everyone else in Gensokyo is going to die eventually. It's beyond the scope of a mortal human to imagine.

Honestly I wouldn't mind immortality. Having all the time in the world to just watch what goes on for ever sounds like a great deal to me. The way things are going that is probably the only way to gather all the knowledge and greatest number of experiences possible. It's not a good idea for people who don't enjoy being alone though, and even worse for people who are prone to loneliness.
Of course, being immortal with another person would be great. Even if you have a fight and end up hating each other you'll have an eternity to reconcile. When there's no end hindsight becomes a suggestion of what to do rather than what should have been done. I'm sure at some point enlightenment will be reached and there won't really be any suffering to be had either, but until then it would be nice to not ever miss anything and to not have to ever do anything.

I don't understand how you could be immortal outside Gensokyo. Even if it doesn't play by the universal rules, immortality is still a myth and the idea of immortal humans should fade away when humanity does. That is, the immortals should cease existing at some point. If they can be immortal without anyone believing in immortals, then youkai and gods should be able to exist without anyone believing in them.
For that matter if Mokou and Kaguya are the only humans left, and them knowing they are immortal is enough to keep them in existence, their belief should be sufficient to keep other youkai they believe in alive, since they're the only ones around to confirm or deny their existences.
