How the fuck does that have anything to do with MLA, if MLA back then wasn't translated? The people who praised it as the best thing ever either actually tried it out, which isn't hard to believe considering /jp/ always had a minority who knows japanese, or played along with the hype.

Reread my post and try again. I never used the word "popular". The japanese VN readers weren't contained in in one single thread back then so it's not like it was a couple of people. It's obviously the minority, but I really couldn't care less about what translated VN readers hype. Same thing with how Muramasa and Baldr Sky are hyped and praised.
