How are Hideaki Anno's live-action movies? I think Eva is amazing, Kare Kano was great. Didn't really like Nadia and Gunbuster as much, I didn't think they were as interesting visually. Re: Cutie Honey was a bit of mindless fun, good to watch with friends and beer.

Anno is bad with real people proportionally on how he's good with animation.
his live movies are absolutely painful, in fact his first live project in a decade and half after the last one is fucking Gojira
Love and Pop had a great directing with a lot of good ideas and beautiful and well-thought moment where he's superpozing two different shots with classical music, always carefully selected
Cutie Honey is some over-the-top insufferable power rangers-like movie but with two extremely interesting moments from a creative viewpoint and I believe that he almost choosed to do this movie only to create those moments, so it's still a must-see
