What does /jp/ hate about kancolle specifically? The game, the shallow characters, the fact that it's milked for all it's worth, that artists flock to it and stop drawing touhou, the fanbase, the theme?
Clown Piece's elder sister is the only good character in this whole franchise.
Most designs are too over the top, sort of like the difference between early Pokémon and Digimon.
The fanwars, though, are pretty much like the Oasis Vs. Blur thing we had in the 90s. Graham Coxon thought about killing himself the day they won over Oasis to prove a point about rivalry being media-constructed, but decided not to. ZUN and whoever runs KanColle are in the same situation, with good terms between them.
With all that said, Blur and Touhou are clearly much better than Oasis and KanColle. At least you can play Touhou, instead of watching it.

As someone whose played it since 2013, I do like the game.
Not so sure about the direction it's taking with regards to its media strategy though, especially given that it's had some issues.
(Continuously delayed spin-off games, a debacle or two regarding spin-off manga, anime not up to the expectations of some people)
Still can't help get the feeling that Kadokawa, instead of building a lasting franchise, knows it's going to falter at some point, so it's rushing to milk it as much as possible.
