Are maid uniforms overdone?
How about other costume or outfit staples (e.g. cheongsam, oversized sweaters, thigh-highs)? What do you consider over- or underrated?

Also maid outfits look good because they are frilly. Add anything frills and ribbons it'll be cute. And cheongsam is a timeless classic, just like a suit, perfect.

Myself I love navy blue costumes.
Maid costumes, bunny suits, sweaters, I love them all. Anime clothing is my favorite shit ever, I would die without it.
The only one I don't like is the stupidly lewd outfits like pic related, or those string-bikinis, just because they make no sense and are incredibly tasteless and gaudy. But they're still OK depending on the situation, like in H books...
