Hey guys, I'm trying to get touhou games to work on my linux distro, but I am stuck in Phantasmagoria of Flower View. Do you guys have any ideas what should I tamper with to get it working? I already tried to edit the custom.exe parameters to no avail.
I don't know anything about running touhou on linux, but this thread on motk might be helpful. Yes, I know motk is a bit distasteful to people, but it's helpful for some technical things.

Because you still need the airbrush equipment, colors, and time. And if you don't plan to build a lot of figurines, buying them ready-made will still come out cheaper, not to mention look a lot better unless you have a lot of experience.

Considering it was the best VN of 2014 (one of the best games released that year in fact since there wasn't much competition) and that it's by far the best sci;adv, I'd say yeah, it's worth it.

I honestly cant tell most Japanese VA's apart and dont care about them. The only reason I perefer sub over dub is dub is just that bad.
The voice Nika uses for V.V is angelic though, I could listen to her read a phonebook in that voice.

My first thought was that maybe this wasn't a specific style at all, but then I realized I can IDENTIFY the traits all of these examples share.

It's just the kind of popular style nowadays.
hey now, that's not exactly what I mean't, there are discernible differences between Shonen and Shojo stylizations, and both of those can be called "anime style".
The closest I've narrowed it down is that some people call it "moe" but that category seems to be more attuned with stuff like Lucky Star, but hey, it might be moe.

Its just a generic style. It's not like there are manga movements like impressionism and dadaism or anything. It's a style that resembles some artist that draws in a way they like. LNs and VNs (not "eroge games" (erotic game games)) do use that sort of style a lot, but it is just a simple and cute style. You'd just need to know the names of artists that drew that way.
But besides that, it seems to be a style based on the simplified styles used in animation.
