Because you've done a shit job with it. 100 years ago all of Ireland was equally terrible. The republican government managed to turn it into a first world country in record time, amazingly everything got better when the Brits fucked off home. NI on the other hand is still the biggest shithole in Western Europe. The only positive about it is that your Syrian refugees will feel at home in that hellhole.
Instead of N. Ireland reuniting, why doesn't the republic just reunite with the U.K.?

There hasn't been a serious unionist here for over 50 years. A huge part of our culture revolves around the english being our mortal enemies. The Irish people would sooner accept being the 51st state or a province in a federal EU than spitting on their ancestors wishes.
