As before, I've got a few free hours. Ask a 29yo Belarusian dude anything.

You might want to check these videos:

What would happen if a Western tourist like me went to Minsk? I want to visit all countries in Europe and Belarus is one of the last left. I met a rich Russian guy in Finland who often went to Minsk and told me it would be very hard for someone who doesn't speak Russian to travel there successfully.

When will you stop this "independent country" meme and just rejoin your Russian neighbours?
>>
E
>>
>>62212377
why should your opinion on any given subject matter in the first place? are you a person of some importance, a trained specialist perhaps? specify your area of expertise, I'm not interested in shallow judgements of a random person who happened to be born in this or that country

What are the typical belarusian dish?
>>
>>62212617
Potato with potato sauce.
>>
>>62212617
Draniki. (Hashbrown).
>>
>>62212449
Nope, you will find lots of English-speaking people in the downtown of Minsk. Just pick young ppl 20-30 years old, especially hipsters.

>>62212509
No way. Why would we, in your opinion?

>>62212543
This is int, so deal with it. If you don't like my expertise, go eat your cabanos somewhere else.

>>62212617
DRANIKI (potato pancakes)
>>
>>62212688
you haven't specified your area of expertise at all

why would your opinion mean anything? I repeat my question - are you someone important?

fuck off butthurt pole

meme country should be given back to Poland
>>
>>62212720
Yes, I'm VERY important. I'm the future king of Poland. So heed me as if you're an obedient peasant.

>>62212798
Pretty much real, though both Russkies and Polacks think otherwise.

>>62212917

What's your opinion on Russian reunification, and what's the general opinion in Belarus? Also, what makes Belorussian culture different to Russian culture?
>>
>>62213661
Real belorusians barely exist. Modern belorusians are mostly just regular russians.
>>
>>62213704
Hence why I'm interested what makes them different enough to be a separate state.
>>
>>62213782
under russian rule means u will be poor and have aids
under polish rule means u will be butthurt for your whole life
Belarussians want to be poor and alone i guess
>>
>>62213661
I'm as against it as it is possible to be. General opinion here after Donbass would be like 35% for it, 65% against, I guess.

The culture of Belarus is pretty much typical to Eastern European Slavs, it is not as touched by Asian influence, as Russian culture.

>>62213704
Yeah, they might look like regular Russians, but very few among them really consider themselves TO BE Russians. Belarusians are here to stay now. 25 years of independence did what they were supposed to do.
>>
>>62213782
>what makes them different enough to be a separate state
Nothing, it's just happened what Y*ltsin wanted to be an independent president, not under USSR rule
>>
>>62212377
Ha бeлopyccкoм гoвopишь?

You can call you even ayyylmao but you are still russian.
>>
>>62213661
1. Reunification. Official opinion -- "Ukraine is an independent country and Crimea is its legal part".
2. Culture. Its a difficult question. TV in Belarus is almost russian, language is russian everywhere. Belorussian language becomes exotic.
>>
>>62214064
So, basically, what you're saying is that the nation does not decide who and what are they, it is Russians who decide who's Russian now. Kek, it's all you need to know about modern Russkie.

>>62214040

in fact "belarus" is someone like "cubanoid" or "sibiryak"

you were just lucky enough to get your state from commies
>>
>>62213995
>>62214187
Thanks for the opinions lads. Also, is there anything worth coming to Belarus for as a tourist? I know you said earlier it'd be hard to get around Minsk without Russian but I'm not opposed to learning it.
>>
>>62214220
Now, I say that your actual nationality is determined by cultural field, language etc you live in. You are absolutely identical to russians in any mean. The same language, the same traditions, everything is the same.
>>
>>62214293
Well, once we were a part of the state that burnt your Moscow to the ground three times. Sounds a bit different to me than just sibiryaks.

>>62214343
That will be the official reason for your government to invade us if we ever get to go the Ukrainain way.

>>
>>62215180

That's Mexico. And if you go south, they haven't totally destroyed Maya culture.

The US on the other hand completely eradicated Native cultures and peoples. And it's been pretty successful for them.
>>

Almost all young people mumble some English. Downtown part of Minsk is crowded with English-literate Uni students. Don't know or care) about other cities.

It's peaceful, but only friendly people are young people. Older people seem very sullen.

Also tell me about belorussian literature

Your country is a Russian property. Economically, politically and even culturally. The question is if majority of Belarusian society likes it

Years of polonization, after that years of russification, and then we actually got indepedence we have found out that belarusian was obsolete.

1. How are relations with Lithuania and Poland? I know a bit about the Grand Duchy and Commonwealth, but how has that affected times now (hostile/peaceful)?

2. How true is the statement in pic? Did the Mongol attacks have a lasting effect on modern Russia, Ukraine, or Belarus?

3. Do you think your country's borders have been appropriately laid out? I personally hear very little news of Belarus in general, but are their disputes/tensions with neighboring countries?
>>
>>62217387
For most of the people out here russian is native language. It's hard for them to start speak it out of nowhere.
Basically
>people want to speak belarusian but it's obsolete
>they give up
>language become even more obsolete
Also since basically no one can speak pure belarussian it's better to let it die in peace then to try to bring it up in a twisted form of "trasyanka".
>>
>>62217527
4. Is there some kind of regional divide throughout the country of Belarus (like north-south Italy, north-south Britain, east-west Ukraine, etc.)?
>>
Post YT links to songs of Belarusian popstars that are currently most popular on radio/TV

>>62217527

2.they did not
3. borders are okay
