The entire premise was...
>[Russian] sucked out of their fingers
>[English] pulled out of their ass

What is your local allegory that in any way differentiates, compared to, say, English version.
>>
I suppose an equivalent would be selling pumpkins.
>>
>>62178564
Trying to attach a bear on you back?
>>
Okay I've got another question. When someone dies, people say something to the family. Now for some reason, English speakers apologise to the family. In Slovene, we say something similar to "My co-sorrow." What do you say in other languages/cunts?
>>
>>62180068
We say: coбoлeзнyю. Noot sure how to translate this
>>
>>62178997
Nah, I'd say it's "pulled along by the hair"

The premise was far-fetched
>>
>>62178564
>sucked out of their
>aus den Fingern gesogen

>tfw we share a metaphor with Rusbros
feels good
>>
>>62180068
We say, Beileid, which is pretty equivalent to co-sorrow or co-suffering

Congrats Slovenia you are an honorary Germanic now
>>
>>62180252
Aus den Fingern gezogen ist es hier.

>Pulled out the fingers.
>>
>>62180294
I am aware of this every time I use a germanism (which is more than once per conversation).
>>
>>62180068

In english I say "I sympathize for your loss".
Apologizing is not what would come to my mind.
>>
>>62180598
On television, I usually hear "I'm sorry" which sounds just strange.
>>
Oh, and in French the verb used would be "compatir" which is the same origin than "sympathize", suffer with.
>>
>>62180068
Meus pêsames. It's literally my condolences
>>
>>62180645
I never thought about why we apologize, but we seem to use it in general for when someone is feeling sorrow, somewhat like apologizing that the person has to bear their sorrow and that it could not have been prevented.
>>
>>62180645

Ameribongs always apologize for anything : hurting feelings, not being sufficiently aware of some privilege...
>>
>>62180158
>co-sorrow
literally that
>>

it might have some deal with sorry and "sorrow" sharing similar origins - although, it's a blind guess, they just sound so similar.

So, by saying "I'm sorry" you're actually saying that you are feeling sorry, i.e. feel sorrow.
Correct me if i'm wrong here
>>
>>62180983
>>62180791
>>62180777
For some reason, when I was a kid and heard "I'm sorry" in a film the thought that the person "apologising" is behind the death stuck with me and it's still the thing I think about when I hear it.
>>
>>62180462
Where do you live? I only know "aus den Fingern gesogen" here in Bavaria. But apparently it works with "ziehen" here
>>
>>62180068

Is it something like "sočutiti" ?
>>
>>62181431
Moje sožalje.
>>
>>62181431
>>62181445
Forgot to write, you may have been thinking of "sočutje" - compassion/empathy.
>>
>>62181445

Prav imaž. I had forgotten the whole "žal" family.
>>
#@! I wanted to say "prav imaš", bad character combination on the keyboard.

BTW do you have those ščž on your keyboard or is it used with a dead key ?
>>
>>62181685
We have QWERTZ keyboards here with additional ščž letters, plus the meme đ and ć keys (I suppose the keyboards are sold in the broader region). Also, I can write ł,Ł and ß with alt gr + key.
>>
>>62181813

OK it's an ex-yu / polish thing over a german layout.
We have french AZERTY and have to rely on compose dead key for everything not on our keyboard.

For me
- č is compose + c + c
- ž is compose + c + z
- đ is compose + - + d
- ł is compose + / + l
>>
>>62182094
>compose dead key
I had to look this up. Right of space, I have Alt Gr, a key with the windows flag that opens Start and a key with a menu on it that opens the little pop-down thingie in programs.

2bh, I want to turn the Đ key into Ə (schwa) for easier shitposting but I don't have the know-how.
>>
>>62182264

Google wincompose.
On my Linux distro I have configured capslock (that I never use)
On Windows you can configure the right windows key (seldom used) and you can Compose + C + C + C + P =
>>
On Linux you have nothing to install except add
setxkbmap -option compose:menu
in you .bashrc

You can then put the schwa with Compose + e + e = ə
>>
>>62180068
Moјe cayчeшћe

Translation would be: My condolences
But literally it would be: My co-participation (to your grieving)
>>
>>62182390
>wincompose
This is actually interesting. Also, it was made by someone with a Slovene surname so it sounds even better 2bh.
>>
>>62178564
>Sucked out of their thumb

For dutch, so relatively close to german and russian
>>
>>62180068
"Mis condolencias", it means my co-sorrow.
>>
>>62180068
We say the same.
Moйтe cъбoлeзнoвaния.
>>
uit je duim zuigen

meaning: sucking it out of your thumb
>>
What is the "I don't give a fuck" of your language?
In bulgarian it's equal to "He ми дpeмe" or "Дpeмe ми нa кypa".
It translates to "It doesn't nap(as in sleep) on me" and "It naps on my dick".
It makes as little sense as it sounds.
>>
>>62183220
Boli me kurac (My dick hurts)
>>
>>62180068
"my participation"
>>
>>62183440
We also use that one.
we sometimes replace kura with 'my other thing' - oня ми paбoтa
>>
>>62183220
Our most vulgar curses would be "blow me", "go in ass" or "bite yourself in the ass"
>>
>>62183621
We replace it with ''My ear hurts'' when we try to be polite. Also there's ''Briga me'' or ''Bas me briga''
It's like an ironic ''I care''
>>
encher chouriço

it means "filling chouriço"
>>
>>62183220
>Meня нe eбёт / Menia ne jebiot
>Mнe пoхyй / Mne pohuj
>>
>>62180068
البقاء لله
Staying [alive] is for God
Or
البقاء في حياتك/م
The rest of staying is in your lives (???)
Or
عظم الله أجركم
May God greaten your good deeds
>>
>>62184111

What about "tristo kosmetih medvedov" ?
>>
>>62180068
"Sorry for your loss" isn't an apology, but rather an expression of sympathy. We also say "condolences" which is again another expression of sympathy.
>>
>>62183220
Ei vituta.

(It) doesn't annoy me.
>>
>>62185798
That's not really that bad of a curse.
