Med diet is pretty much proven to be ideal for the average person and the relaxed lifestyle of med people (aka lazy as fuck with good weather and socialising) makes for a long life span.
No stress, no pollution, no shitty diet.

from what i remember when i went, i'd say it's all the kebab-like meat they have which looks pretty greasy
extremely sweet desserts full of sugar and honey like baklava probably aren't helping either
