Because, dumdums, it was his way of strong-arming some progressive beliefs into the Democratic platform. Whether or not that will come to fruition is yet to be seen, but I think he was more concerned with implanting some progressivism into the party and actually having something to show for his last year of campaigning.

Why should we use english spelling? Z is the "th" letter in spanish. You will never see the argentinians mocking spaniards writing polithia but polizia. In english c can sound like s or like k, in spanish from spain it can sound like z or like k (we don't actually use k or z that much though, they're "foreign" letters specially k) but it's consistent and impossible to not predict how it will sound unless you're dumb/never learned the rules.

It has a weird accent but those sounds she does it kind of well. The only problem is you're writing badly and maybe failing to identify sounds that probably don't exist in your language (they don't exist in english for sure).
The sound of J is stronger than english H, and it's often written KH in languages where both exist. But spanish has no h sound, which is why spaniards have difficulties when speaking english and often say jard/khard instead of hard (for example).
The ll just doesn't sound like y, we have y for that. Ll is a similar sound but sounds more like L. A lot of spaniards have difficulties pronnouncing it correctly though, specially in some territories and social classes. It could be lost in some generations. The girl in google translate kinda avoids doing an Y but she clearly has difficulties and probably doesn't use the correct pronnunciation in his day-to-day talks.
