Do you like or dislike trains?
And Americans, do you really use trains nowadays anymore? I havent heard people in US talk about trains too much.
I like trains, although it wasnt so until I moved here in Spain. I havent been using them that much but they have been pretty well on their time so far, comfy and cheap. WAY better than in my home country, where they are expensive, late all the damn time and just discomforting. Also I have been blessed with luck, there hasnt been many people in the trains that I have been in.
Share your opinions about trains here please. Im interested. Feel free to criticize or praise your country's trainsystem too.
VR is a national shame.

is there no interest to travel with train in US? Is it somewhat rare or is it still done often, but nobody just cares? Im interest since I never hear Americans talk about trains

Would love a passenger railway. Lots of freight lines in the area which were used as passenger lines also up until 50 years ago. Unlikely that they will reopen though.
I like them since today

I enjoy traveling by train actually. It is quiet and you have more leg room. Plus since not as many people ride the train, it's not as crowded. Although it's slower, the train is a comfy way to travel.

The Northwest is one of the few markets outside of the Northeast that has increasing train ridership on its line (Portland-Seattle-Vancouver, BC)
We have an extensive freight system but passenger choices are often limited or shit.
