We Can Be Heroes was a mockumentary miniseries on ABC about ten years ago, where they follow five nominees for Australian of the Year (who are all played by the same guy, Chris Lilley). He's done a few other shows since that Americans might know of ("Angry Boys" or "Summer Heights High"), but this was his best in my opinion. It reminds me of The UK Office in its believability, and it really closely resembles ABC documentaries of the time, in the music and visual style.
