You get both, like that other anon said. There is a blend of typical southern hicks and hipsters from the west coast. Spokane area is generally pretty conservative compared to the rest of the state and west coast.
People fly the CSA flag everywhere, even here in Canada just north of Seattle you see people waving it around or driving around with it in the back of their truck and shit.
The Palouse area is beautiful, not much to do there besides farming, casinos, golfing and some other outdoor activities but there are worse places to live.

Interesting, I hope to move to Spokane some day down the line (6 years or so maybe) but I've heard some bad things about it.

Spokane fucking sucks, it's a dump. It's worth visiting for maybe 2 days at most. Just go to Seattle or a Seattle suburb, way more shit to do. Only go to Spokane if you really want to live in a cheap sub par area

Why does Spokane suck? I've honestly never been but I hear they have a really nice surrounding area with good hiking trails/scenery.
I don't wanna go to Seattle because it's too expensive honestly. All I want to do is settle down somewhere in Washington and work in a healthcare system/hospital.....but I don't know where.

It just feels dirty and cheap, take your average midwest town and that's what it feels like, a big fucking highway and spokane is even worse because they have so many car companies/carriers that do business through spokane so it's like driving by a bunch of massive parking lots. The weather is the best part about spokane, the rest feels like a dirty strip mall. If you want an alright place to live that isn't to expensive you could do a lot worse but you could also do better.

Everyone has different opinions, like I said before depends on the type of person you are. I much rather live on the coast/western part of washington as the eastern half is to flat for my tastes and just feels to much like a frontier, like you're trapped.
What you should do is take some time to go on a road trip around Oregon and Washington, go on some hikes, take in some culture and visit the major cities and towns and decide what you like best, good thing about living in either is you aren't far away from the east or west no matter where you live in the pacific northwest

I'm pretty much like this, so I suppose the Western part of Washington should suit me. I really love mountains/valleys but I've never experienced living on flatlands. Thing is though, I pretty much have no idea what goes on in Western Washington besides for Seattle/Redmond.
I hope there are good suburban areas in Western Washington that aren't methed out shitholes (I'm reading more about Spokane rn, and its meth problem)
