Hollywood "remakes" an awful lot of scandinavian movies.

Look it up.
The Bridge.

The original is actually pretty good.

Or look up
"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"
"The Girl who played with Fire"

Bot great scandinavian Films than Hollywood completely ruined with the remake.

Scandis make top tier thrillers.

This

Might be biased, but ex-yu and later after 90s fr yugoslavia had a rather good cinematography.

Personal favorites include
Pretty Village, Pretty Flame one of the best war story movies ever made, without a question
The Professional
Battle of Neretva
March on Drina
Walter defends Sarajevo, probably the most watched war movie on the planet. The Chinese completely love it.

IMO the American versions of both are better, but the originals are still phenomenal. Especially that Bron|Broen intro video and music and based Martin and Saga. I heard the latest season was without Martin. Is it still worth watching without him? Sadly the US version was canceled just as it was getting good with the development of Marco into someone who starts to break bad.

I didnt like the American version of the Bridge as much as I liked the original.
They didnt manage to potray Martin's personal struggles and Saga's autism as good as in the original.

I didnt watch the third season yet, but I hope they managed.

And Daniel Craig is a horrible Actor. Period. He's the male Kristen Stewart
But if you liked it, I'd recommend you The Hundred Code.

Thanks anon, it sounds interesting. I'm downloading it right now. I'm really running out of things to watch and there's nothing decent running right now. Have to wait for the fall for Narcos and Grand Tour, and sadly The Knick isn't airing this year.

Have you watched Deutschland 83? I thought it was pretty good. Can't find a premiere date for the second season though even though it aired over a year ago and second season has been confirmed.

What do you guys think about Luis Bunuel's The Exterminating Angel? It was filmed in Mexico with Mexican cast and crew but the director was Spanish, so was it a European film or a Mexican film? I really enjoyed it either way. Right up there with The Seventh Seal as my favorite films.

The main character of D83 is really sympathetic, imo. Everyone he cared about was trying to screw him over in some way. His cunt slut fiance/baby momma, his mom approving of his fiance cucking him and helping the guy that cucked him, his aunt using him, his father not bothering to tell him who he is while he puts him in danger, etc. The guy never got a break.

Also forgot to mention at least Mr. Robot starts soon. At least that's decent.

unconnected, ~50 minute movies about everything that's holy. Watch the first episode (just for the meme potential)

Been posting this in all those threads, hope you saw it now.
French film by Julie Gavras?, from an italian book.
This film, that an American made me discover here, is a total UFO...

Story of a small girl who resents her rich parents for deciding to change their life to help a distraught uncle, back in Franco's spain.

(correct me if I'm wrong)

It's literally the pros and cons of capitalism and "group spirit" in the daily family life dimension. For example, one family enforces taboos (sex, the past...), while the other does not. The little girl prefers the former (she feels more secure), but the one thing that bothers her is why are there things that one shouldn't say? Made me crack up at this point.

I assume you've seen all of Guy Richies films which basically fill that niche..? Feels kind of low effort tho. Fugg, I have one on the top of my head I can't think of the name tho (Parisian.) Really fun film.

do watch it. It's a seriously great movie. all shot in one take (e.g. one camera) which really adds to the atmosphere. I might say this as a Londonfag (was set in Berlin) but I really feel that film right there is the """European""" identity. Like anyone could relate to it.

Mad Men is the best show ever made (inb4 soap opera, nothing happens, etc.) and has plenty of funny moments to go along with the drama. Dead Like Me is a great dark comedy drama that was canceled before its time despite phenomenal ratings (it had the highest rated season premiere on Showtime until Shameless US premiered 7 years later).
