Hell, most people probably don't even have a good handle on the fact that Scandinavia is known for it's welfare system. We don't know much about other countries political systems, so if someone was to tell a guy in my town that Italy is known for being corrupt, Spain has high unemployment, or that Germany has a good economy, they wouldn't know about those things. All we care about with other countries is their food, architecture, women, nature, stuff like that. Unless they're countries that have been hostile to America like Russia, China, Mexico or Middle Eastern countries.
