I've heard it European Portuguese described as Russian. Mostly because we use very efficient vowels and don't move our mouths much to say them. Then the 'r's and 'l's are fast and it sounds a lot like a quiet mumble, unless it's enunciating (i.e. video games and cartoons and songs). Brazilian is closer to Spanish in the pronunciation, and easier for foreign people.
