Let's first make a distinction, we have Anglo Canada and French Canada. All the cultural stereotypes and things Canada is known for is due in large part to French Canada, not majority Anglo Canada.

Hell, the US has more culture than Anglo-Canada.

Fur trapping, maple syrup and canoeing are all originally Aboriginal. The French could be said to have popularized fur trapping and maple syrup, though, and facilitated the introduction of both to the British. Of the three, maple syrup is the closest to being French-Canadian, as the Aboriginals never really refined its production, and the whole sugar shack thing (which is now closely associated with maple syrup) is of French extraction.
