Ethiopia was an Italian colony, albeit briefly. Germany as just being occupied and it isn't like the Americans and Soviets were planning on exploiting the population, at least not in a colonization-type way.
Although, the Italians were incompetent and they left no real cultural impact on their colonies, Ethiopia was still a (unsuccessful) colony nonetheless.
