Why do Amerifats want to be "Irish" so bad? I'm of Irish descent and know many relatives from Ireland and their stories and the Irish are either dysfunctional white trash or insufferable tightwads. What is there to be proud of?
I've also noticed most of what Amerifats think "Irish"/"Ireland" is has nothing to do with what that place or the people there are actually like.

Nobody WANTS to be Irish, it's just that so many people are, but in small fractions. During the industrial revolution and post-industrial era, thousands of Irish and Germans flooded in looking for work. That's where all these Irish descendants come from. I'm a whole half Irish, but that's because my Grandparents immigrated in the 30s
